dafuq is this?

I unironically enjoyed it

Its better than I expected but hardly ourfilm

is this like shadowrun or were the fantasy races always present?

ugh fine i'll watch it but will smith better not be too annoying

Always. They get into some history briefly.

>Always
how does that even work?
everything in the trailers looked like they were just plopped into normal human dominated world

If they had twice the budget it would have been kino, but there are so many scenes in that movie that needed a second take cuz of shitty line delivery. The horribly scripted dialog didn't help anything, but maybe a couple more attempts would have resulted in a better end product... Shit, the hole thing felt rushed.

That said, I unironically enjoyed watching. Mostly due to the price point. Had this been in theaters I would have been pissed, but its more than worth watching if you already sub to Netflix.

Shit idk, but they reference things that happened like 2000 years before the movie so i assumed they were always co existing

>another over-hyped piece of netflix shit that will be forgotten in a week

everyone above me kill yourselves.

Worldbuilding kino.

I wish we could get a real shadowrun movie.

I want to fuck that main bad guy elf.

Needed more magic wand hijinx

one a related note, is there an rpg which allows me to kill elves in a large quantity?

I'm rather surprised that an (((elfish))) writer like Max Landis called out the (((Elves))) as hard as this.

Needed more racial slurs

Good movie hated by the "professional" "critics" and the soy boys on Sup Forums. Seems like it's /our/ movie.

>tap: add one green mana to your mana pool.
They got that mana from pawning the bike they stole from some human child.

>hated by the "professional" "critics"
those are all on the big studios payroll. them piling up on a flick produced by their biggest rival shouldnt come as a surprise

>only Asian character
>her name is Ching
It is.

If you want actual role playing games you're gonna have to find competant friends and play a table top game with them. Good luck. I tried once but I realized I am too stupid to roleplay decently and so were they including the GM. .

That's exactly why he was allowed to call (((them))) out.

>competant
haha

>showed human city most of the movie
>showed orc nigger land for a good period of time
>showed elf land for like 5 seconds

Bullshit

I told you

>we need a name for Magaret Cho's character
>uhhh...Ching?
>brilliant

I thought jews were goblins and elves were aryans.

What? No, don't be absurd, Landis is clearly gnomish /tg/-wise.

if you can tolerate will smith its ok. but he has a white wife in it which immediately disqualifies it as /OurFilm/

That's literally the main reason why its our film

watch the scene where they go to the Elf District again. then watch the scene where they talk about how the Elves took Orcish culture and are now using it to corrupt Humans. You literally can't get more obvious than that.

It's Los Angeles. Context.

It's a fun movie, nothing groundbreaking, hopefully they'll just buy the shadowrun license and make it a 80s neon future type of thing

Why do you think hes now being accused of being a sexual predator?

I don't see the point. A couple of holograms, some flying cars, a robot. The flick nails everything about the settnig that matters.

he's been accused of being a sexual predator ever since he gave that retarded sex interview 3 YEARS AGO

Elves are jews and running show.
Humans are whites.
Orcs are niggers.
Magic is nuclear bomb.

Dubs confirm.

It's safe to call it pretentious and tryhard while simultaneously being the laziest piece of shit to grace this board since Justice League.

Did they have to decorate the orcs in nigger uniforms? Like, everyone knew they were the nigs, you didnt have to put them in footbal jerseys and flatbill hats

Than who is the dark one ?

>niggers
>whites
>the eternal elf

Absolute Sup Forums kino. How did Max get away with this?

Was this movie literally based off of the "what was Aragorn's tax policy?" meme?

He's an (((elf))) himself.

>tfw no magic elf gf

The only good part was when the orc played cannibal corpse in the squad car

/ourguy/ too
youtu.be/l6rmG4ZbLTA

by making them believe he was talking about the 1%

Wich elf chick was /ourelf/?

Unironically liked it and hope there is a cinematic universe :^)
But seriously I look forward to the sequel

Is Peter Debruge /our guy/?

Do people actually like this garbage fire?

continued

good movie.

solid 8 out of 10 for me.

>lazy
more buzzwords

Terrible, terrible movie. Could've done something legitimately interesting with the setting, instead they just plopped in random fantasy races. It all feels so cheap. Not to mention that apart from this gimmick it's just pieced together out of tropes.

Is this the first film that takes medieval high fantasy and applies it to modern times?

Noomi Rapace

The most impressive thing about that is that you wrote an entire sentence without saying anything

Just finished watching it. I hope they make a couple of sequels, there's quite a few threads that could be expanded on.

Go to bed, Max.

>there's quite a few threads that could be expanded on.
They should fire Ayer and bring on Rian Johnson.

Dialog can be pretty silly especially with the mustache twirling crooked cops. Also a few dumb scenes like the Swat guys who decide to charge the elf chick killing them all in close combat onstead of them just shooting her. Also felt pretty lengthy.

Other than that I liked the deisgn of it all and the setting. Elves felt otherworldly and looked both hot and unsettling. Orcs, (besides Nick which made sense) looked imposing and beastly. Also some good action sequences and a great performance by Joel Edgerton.

Was worried at the start this movie would be all about how racism is bad and the end would involve humans and all nonhumans hand in hand achieving some perfect equality. It was nice to see the racism just used as a tool for the setting and the entire story revolved around the wand. I really enjoyed the ending where no one claps for Nick getting a medal but they do for Ward and all Ward does is clap for Nick.

Movie is at least a 7/10 for me.

okay.jpg

>written by a jew
>written by a guy who was on rlm
>written by a rapist
>bmwf couple

oh it's our film alright

It was nice that they didn't club you over the head with MUH RACISM at every turn. It was more subtle

ok soy boy

>tfw had to solve 6 captchas to post this

>film starts
>execution scene with every bright
>wands snapped in half
>Jakoby retired
>Will Smith inexplicably dead

It was. Funny the Mexicans are more violent in this movie than the Orcs are.

I kekled

Elves are only good for one thing.

Damn I wish I was a woman. Could you imagine the power? Point at any man you dislike and say "HE ASSAULTED ME!" and immediately you have ruined his future. You could cheat on your husband with a thousand people and still get half of his shit in a divorce. You would never have to work and make all your money financially dominating cucks. At any moment you receive criticism you could summon a legion of white knights to defend you.

notice how these threads always have 1/2 ratio of posters to replies

that's how you spot a shill thread

I liked the characterisation of the orcs

AROUND ELVES

how prevalent is interracial porn in this universe?

I would love if Max Landis adapted Monster for tv. set in the US

Sasuga. besides all that social power the soft skin and flexibility would be comfortable.

Must be tons. There was a scene where to human girls get ORCED. I wish therr were actual somr qt orc girls instead of all the hags they show.

The asian chick, Ana Akana, started out as Ray William Johnson's girlfriend with 0 Hollywood status. She managed to convince poor retard to stop producing =3, found a production company and make 'movies' with her. It failed spectacularly, bus somehow she managed to snag a minor role in Ant Man.
Oh, and when Carrie FIsher died, guess who was next to her? Ana fucking Akana. I'm almost convinced she's a secret Hollywood assassin.

So there's elves, humans, orcs and centaurs seen, with dwarves being mentioned.
Who are the other five races from the Nine Armies? There's a dragon, maybe that's one.

I want a series set in this universe. This is the best Will Smith movie in years, he should just set up shop on Netflix.

I wish I was a woman so I could slap John Oliver's slimy face and make him apologize to me after for triggering me.

>mfw he would

8/10 for me. Felt like I went back straight into the 90's and I was seeing a Will Smith flick from the time (Bad Boys, MIB). Everything just clicked for me, the quips were decent since the Orc is not accustomed to humans, the action scenes were sweet, the chemistry was there.

Only poorly written thing for me was the Elvish chick. It would have made more sense not to have her talk English instead of getting all convoluted about her motivations. This shit better become Netflix's new thing with gangsters riding dragons or I'll be mad.

Gnomes for sure.

Looks like Shadowrun. How similar/different is it?

Yeah... I felt they played up the qt autistic elf girl too much. Why she decides to speak English suddenly is beyond me.

Post better gnomes.

In fact I was almost convinced she was tricking the cops into going to the pool to be sacrificed to the dark Lord or some shit. That's just how weird her writing and the final scene were to me.

Yeah her character was weirdly written but well acted and cute through it all. Dick was diamonds when her sister was on top of her trying to bring her back to her side.

...Which was kinda weird seeing as this same sister sent an assassin to kill her yet tries to convert her again in the end. Also I still have no fuckibg clue what that elf was turned into on the wall.

>implying anything is better than a black haired gnome

Fuck off with your mspaint gnome.

I mean, the critics were wrong (like they were about Star Wars).

It's not the worst film of the year.

But it's not a good film either.

Me too. It was like seeing Alien Nation meets World of Warcraft.

Goblins are better.

name one rottentomatoes or metacritic reviewer that isnt leaning to the left FUCK ALL THESE REVIEW SITES

We need us some mermaids.

Being right leaning in todays world is career suicide. Look at Tim Allen.

Lmao.
