CHRISTMAS TELLY

What's your Christmas telly watching schedule, lads? Anything you're really looking forward to? Will you be spending Christmas Day watching telly with family, fighting over what to watch, or will you skip telly on the day and watch what you've missed once all the family have fucked off?

I'm going to be pining for the days I looked forward to the BBC Christmas specials.

Aren't Vic and Bob back with a Christmas special? Surely if you're pining for the good old days that would be something for you?
I do agree that quality has been slipping and Mrs. Brown's Boys has no right to be the big Christmas comedy special which used to be reserved for Only Fools and Horses or going even further back, Morecombe and Wise

>Christmas telly watching schedule
None.
Other than Christmas day (I have no idea what's going to be on) I'll be spending Christmas preparing for exams I am very likely to fail. I'd say I can't wait for Christmas holiday's when I'm finished with uni, but I get the feeling junior doctors don't get much of one either.

The only thing on the 25th I want to see is Doctor Who, the schedule is shit this year
There's other good stuff coming but that's around New Year (BFQOTY, Cats does Countdown, Vic and Bob's Big Night)

I'm gonna be off me bleeding rocker lad so whatevers on the box tea and crumpets

There's a couple of episodes of The Good Life and a Christmas special of To the Manor Born on tomorrow.
I'll tape them and watch them on Christmas Day.
There's fuck all else on!

Getting pissed is the only way to get through Christmas with a large family. Thankfully, they all agree so each year we're drunk by 3pm and it just escalates until a bit past midnight where we all fall down on something semi-comfortable to sleep on. If I'm watching any telly this Christmas I'll probably just forget it and use iPlayer or something

I'm sad that we're reduced to reruns of older, better Christmas viewing to make up for the lack of new good stuff.

>The Good Life xmas special
I'm convinced if I watch it enough times, one of these years it will descend into a drunken orgy. There's no way Jerry isn't dicking Barbara on the reg anyway, so it would be nice for them all to be open to it.

watching some gav and stacey

>paying the fucking licence fee for the Big Black Cock to poz you with propaganda

There was a time people would look forward to spending Christmas with Del Boy or Penelope Keith, now it's an old Irishman in a dress.
Diversity at the BBC!

Might make Christmas a Tarkovsky day. I've been meaning to rewatch Andrei Rublev lately.

Oh, good one. That Christmas special was really good, I'll put it on my list of things to watch that aired years ago.

These days I just rewatch good Christmas specials from the past.
As for Mrs Brown, her time in the spotlight will end one day. It'll go away and be replaced once something better hits the screens. I have no idea why it's as popular as it is, getting the Christmas comedy special prime time gig is a huge deal, but it has no right being in the same spot as OFAH used to be.

>now it's an old Irishman in a dress.
>Diversity at the BBC!
Drag has always been a big part of British comedy, think back to monty Python, you underaged Redditor.
If you want to complain about diversity at the BBC complain about their retard fucking quotas where they have to hire a certain number of non whites even for off-screen roles.

chase christmas special, screw anything else

Fuck off!

>He has no idea how unbelievably shit ITV is

HM The Queen is the ONLY appropriate Christmas Day television.

Only tele I'm watching is that Alan Partridge thing on wednesday. Everything else can fuck right off

>not spending christmas shitposting on Sup Forums

christ what is this place, digital spy forums?

anyone find the older you get the easier it is to watch shit sitcom tv you hated as an adolescent

it just works to have something on in the background while you're working or doing stuff around the house

>mfw used to think parents were morons but realise they just wanted to mong out to something on ITV for 30 minutes

How's Bangkok Chick Boys V?

I'll admit to having a good chuckle when the first one or two series of Mrs. Brown aired, it was something different, and the humour was decent. The acting was terrible but I liked the fact that the whole cast was related to Brendan O'Carroll in some way and not just actors. The moments where O'Carroll started messing around with cast members who forgot their lines were good as well.

It was after that that they really started relying on cursing (feck off always gets a laugh from the audience) and the fourth wall breaking scenes felt very much like they were written deliberately. The Christmas specials don't have anything to do with Christmas anymore because they've completely got out of ideas at this stage. It's shite and it needs to go.

Yes and I hate it.

Failed my TV license exam yesterday, there's no way I'm retaking it before christmas. Wanted to watch Strictly but now it's ogre. Hold me lads ;_;

Ruddy marvelous

Got this lined up for boxing day with our Anya.

IM WATCHING DOCTOR WHO

only to see if its a well done episode transitioning to the female one

>people talking about Vic and Bob

Thanks whoever recommended I listen to athletico mince, it's fucking hilarious.

>anyone find the older you get the easier it is to watch shit sitcom tv you hated as an adolescent
I haven't "gone back" to check yet. I can see it though, I used to be all about good quality stuff and ignored sitcoms I found terrible. I wonder if in a couple years time I'll sit down and watch the boxset of Citizen Khan.

I definitely agree with the background noise thing though, I'll often keep the telly on, or stream some stuff I'm not particularly excited about while I go about my business in the house, just to have something to listen to.

>mfw used to think parents were morons but realise they just wanted to mong out to something on ITV for 30 minutes
That's adult life for you. After a long day at work you just want to slump down on the sofa and watch just any old shit. You just flick the channels and go, yeah, Miranda will do.

...

Obviously watching Dr Who

I couldn't get into that because I have no knowledge or interest in football. I love Bob, but I wish he'd do a podcast not themed around sport

Is it just about football? Love some Bob but got 0 interest in footballs

The premise is about football and Bob and some retired player discuss football. There were also just nice chats and banter at the start of the podcast, but then it goes straight to football. Big shame because like you I love Bob, but couldn't give a shit about football.

>Europedo cancer shitting up Sup Forums

Am I missing a joke here? I've been to Digital Spy and they love ruining the experience of watching something live by constantly posting while watching. Live posting should be a criminal offence.

Junior hockey from now until new years.
