Wow, he's a pretty powerful name in the industry, no wonder this proto-Family Guy slightly amusing but not laugh out loud funny scene is fucking praised to death by Reddit

SNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDMOOOOORE
Superintendent, I was just feeding my seed on the windowsill! Isometric farming, care to join me?
I still dont get that joke. Sneeds Seeds and Feed? Explain pls.
I've never understood the cult-like praise of this scene in particular. Sure, it's funny. But is it that outstanding? Is it unique and memorable enough to be unanimously regarded, in certain isolated circles, as the pinnacle of animated comedy 20 years later? I don't think so.
I dont get why middle aged men like MLP. Its the way of the world user.
I don't get it either, it's for the rick and morty generation. I like the more subtle humor in these simpsons episodes where the jokes weren't obvious and in your face
It's a reference to the Rig Veda.
Well, Sneed, I made it- despite your directions
Ah. Superintendent Chuck. Welcome. I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon.
Yeah.
Oh, egads! My store is ruined. ~But what if... I were to purchase Chucks store and disguise it as my own Seed and Feed? Delightfully devilish, Sneed. ~
It's a meme you dip
You're an idiot and beyond help. Go clean your dorm room
Sneedfag detected.
Here's an intellectual breakdown
No one actually finds it funny, much like the sign gags.
Sneed is the epitome of overblown dumb jokes I was talking about
>Aurora Sneederalis.... at this time of the year? At this time of the day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?
>Feed
>May I seed it?
>No.
...
FUCK YOU
Only sneedfags hate prime simpsonskino like steamed hams, fucker
What's so obvious and in your face about it
MERRY FISHMAS
>Yes, and you call them sneemed hams despite the fact that they are formerly Chuck's.
Next level memery
Oh great here comes the POL tard spamming sneedshit
i thought they just improvised this scene then animated it
>implying someone wrote this
Someone get this chuckhead out of here!
Oh great here come the chuckleheads out the woodworks
Other people like it.
>he's fucking retarded enough to think sneedposting is one guy
This is dumb as thinking Baneposting is one guy
Sneed posting is basically a funnier Baneposting that's more dynamic and comes from a better source (Simpsons) instead of some Reddit movie
>May I fuck it?
FUCK YOU DO NOT INSULT BANEPOSTING
>funnier
>Shit, some Jew made this. It's now reddit, family guy, and awful
Uh, buddy? I don't think this is right medium for you. It'd be like moving to Africa despite hating niggers
Became a joke on Sup Forums because the ps3 has no games.
>Sneed posting is basically a funnier Baneposting
the absolute state of /teevee/
...
It's not a bad scene but I like jokes in simpsons that felt smarter than me and surprised me. This was "Did you say steamed clams?" No I said steamed HAMS". It's not that smart or funny.
And the sneed joke isn't funny because its a lame dick joke
This is the only real answer in the thread.
una sneeda
>Sneeda caca
I like it because it's so strange. It's not a reference, there aren't plays on words, and it isn't self referential. It feels like a completely different show but not in a bad way
t. dannyboytbh
Reminder Sup Forums's contrarianism will eventually lead to deciding that 90s Simpsons sucked all along because Reddit (and everyone) likes it
Simpsons has always been overrated though, it's just taken plebs thus long to realise it
Don't try and get ahead of when people realise this by memeing "muh contrarianism", just accept its barely a notch above Reddit and memey
...
...
i live in albany and no fucking restaurants ever call hamburgers steamed hams. such a waste.
>saying multiple, multiple times
what a brainlet
This episode made me so mad
>rape jokes around Bart
>Meg confessing cutting herself to Lisa
>Homer getting beaten to a pulp
>The carwash scene
All of this just felt really uncomfortable to me with The Simpsons characters.
The only part of the episode I found funny was when the Griffins first get to Springfield
Peter/Stewie/Lois (don't remember who said it):
>I wonder which state we are in right now?
Brian:
>I can't imagine that's we're allowed to say
Autists think repeating things is funny.
I feel you. It's not an SJW thing (which I remember someone here saying when to episode aired) to be against fucking rape jokes in the Simpsons. It's weird, and has a sinister tone that Simpsons never had when dealing with dark topics
What I never got what that joke where the sign said Fneed's Seed n Seed
Well for one the entire "aurora borealis" bit was completely ad libbed by the voice actors, and the fact the characters play it completely deadpan, not to mention the subversion of expectations considering usually when Skinner comes up with a legitimate excuse for Chalmers, Chalmers often shrugs it off as Skinner being incompetent, whereas here Skinner comes up with shitty excuse after shitty excuse, and Chalmers just rolls with it, and seemingly gets more skeptical after each excuse. By the time we get to the aurora borealis bit, Chalmers initially seems like hes finally seen through Skinner's bullshit, and then NOPE he actually believes its aurora borealis. The smoke billowing from the kitchen coupled with Skinner's mother screaming about the house being on fire during all of this is the icing on the cake as it provides a perfect frame for just how absurd the whole situation is. Skinner almost burns his house down and kills his mother to avoid admitting to Chalmers he simply burnt a roast, yet his bumbling idiotic excuses shouldn't have allowed it to gotten that far to begin with. The exchange just gets more and more ridiculous and you expect the usually sharp Chalmers to eventually see through the bullshit and Skinner crumple from criticism, but in this particularly ludicrous instance, it never happens.
Its a pretty funny subplot when you look at its depth, and its interesting the OP picked this one as a "proto-Family Guy" joke when its hardly at all. The lazy "first non-Brazilian guy to travel through time" joke would have been a much more realistic choice, but thats likely because OP is just shitposting
It's Lynchian humour.
Sneed
Don't forget the Lovecraftian undertones
What about him?
holy shit a well thought out post, GTFO nigger.
I've never seen the words "yes" and "no" used as effectively as punchlines anywhere else, so it has that going for it.
feed and seed
Yes, I'm aware he owns one in the series. What does this have to do with Steamed Hams though?
>"Did you say steamed clams?" No I said steamed HAMS".
if you actually think that's (one of the many) jokes in that scene and aren't just shitposting you have mega 'tism
Literally no show or movie "deserved" the cultural craze The Simpsons got. That doesn't put it next to R&M, or even in the same league. When you give your opinion without explaining yourself beyond "it just is", that's a pretty good signal you're just a contrarian.
The joke is Skinner is really struggling to keep up his facade VERY poorly, he is obviously bullshitting, yet this time Super Nintendo Chalmers actually believes him. Traditionally Skinner would have a legitimate excuse and Chalmers would find a way to make Skinner look like an asshole. This is literal subversion of expectation 101, its some of the most basic shit in comedy. If you think its shitposting then you are absolutely fucking hilarious.
If you take a line that's set up beforehand and then plays into the rest of the bit, stripping it of all its meaning so that the conclusion you come to in this humor vacuum is that the joke is "ham rhymes with clam", then no, you're right, it's not funny.
What're you doing here? This is a porn and race war board now you fucking educated nigger. Now GTFO you piece of Fucking shit.
Sneed
>this level of reading comprehension
buddy...try again. follow the conversation.
I forgot I wasn't on Reddit
...
Don't you mean GTFO to Plebbit nigger?
Up on the housetop, Sneed Sneed Sneed!
When you're right, you're right. Looks like I'm a real fucking SNEED
seth shouldn't you be writing more pop culture references for the orville
>movie trailer
>WHAT IF SNEED WASN'T JUST A STORY
>ear shattering fart noise
>full frontal shot of Sneed rising from the sea with water streaming off of his body
>black screen
>coming 2018
>movie
>opening shot is Sneed rising out of the water
>movie is 2 hours and 45 minutes of Sneed purchasing a Chuck's
>ending is Sneed standing over the newly christened feed and seed roaring at the sky
It's almost like setup matters in a joke. And besides that, you're taking a casual line, which is setup in and of itself, like it's meant to be some grand punchline. You can boil down literally any joke to one of few forms.
>coffee joke from Airplane
subversion, comedy 101
>the goodyear joke from Naked Gun
pun, comedy 101
>"we ain't found shit" from Spaceballs
visual gag, comedy 101
did you record this in 1910?
Just recorded mate, really enjoyed Sneed
Formerly 1909
Your accent went from the Godfather to an Englishman quite quickly
steamd hams
sneeeeed hams (formely chuck)
lol
>a casual line
Its literally the intent of the whole fucking scene, almost every line Skinner utters gets more and more ridiculous, and each time you expect it to be the moment Chalmers finally realizes its all bullshit, yet no matter how dumb the excuses get, Chalmers still believes him. They practically scream this point at you when Chalmers angrily questions "Aurora borealis? At THIS time of year, at THIS time of day, localized entirely within your kitchen?!, etc". They really sell out on Chalmers finally seeing through it all, but still no, he believes everything Skinner said, even after literally seeing the fire, the "steam" pouring from the kitchen, and Skinner's mother shouting "THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE"
The whole scene you go through expecting Chalmers to figure it all out, but instead he never does. Its not just one line or one joke, the whole subplot plays off subversion of expectation and pushes it to the point where its level of absurdity just makes it funnier, and especially if you're familiar with the characters
I fucking hate you faggots
Sneedposters rule
People who complain about Sneedposting are alright
But it's the faggots who type 'Sneed LolLLLL" as a passive aggressive way to communicate they dont like the meme are the worst and need to be fucked and sucked off to hell
i fucking love sneeed and hate chuck
la-di-da, mr. park avenue manicure
lol
>dude muh jokes lmao
Jokes are inherently jewish in nature
This.
Simpsons isn't funny, it's supposed to be "witty" but ti doesn't actually make me laugh out loud at all.
It's stuff balding/glasses wearing nu-males reference on Twitter to recent pop culture events
I know Sneed personally, ask me anything
>Simpsons isn't funny, it's supposed to be "witty" but ti doesn't actually make me laugh out loud at all.
Well, that's it
This guy doesn't laugh at it. Go home everyone, classic Simpsons is unfunny

The sixth image needs to be the fancy German car
Eyes up here, Chuck
...
Was Chuck a homosex? Is that a condom for fag sex in his pocket? So much the writers left unanswered.
>You can boil down literally any joke to one of few forms.
Boiled hams or steamed clams
holy shit
Genuinely it's a standout moment in the golden age of maybe the funniest show ever made. It's the dead parrot sketch done better than the dead parrot sketch.
bravo reddit you posted it again
Wouldn't it make more sense to have sneed rather than 2 homers?
