Will the live action movie do well in Trump's America?

Will the live action movie do well in Trump's America?

It's Disney so it'll do gangbusters.

The Trumpfags will be mad because they'll see it as SJW, feminist, anti-white, anti-Trump, Muslim propaganda just like they see everything else.

Then some studio will try to cash in on them by releasing something that appeals to them like that recent King Arthur or Gods of Eygpt but it will flop as usual.

Is Dan gonna do the Genie?

>like that recent King Arthur or Gods of Eygpt
What are either of these? How do you pander to them with something called Gods of Egypt...

>How do you pander to them with something called Gods of Egypt...

Oh user you'd be surprised. Just look at the controversy that surrounded that movie. It's one of the few instances where I'll say SJWs were 100% right on.

Alladin is played by Syrian, Jasmine is Indian/caucasian mix, everyone is white and Jafar is british.

Modern Egyptians and the ancient Egyptians aren't the same people, user. You can't accurately cast actors for a race that doesn't really exist anymore.

Not saying that casting White actors was the right decision, but there was no "accurate" way to cast it.

I refuse to watch the live action movie because it is cultural appropriation, Aladdin was Chinese in the original tale.

But still you cant make a movie set in ancient Eygpt and literally cast the whitest of the white actors for all the roles. There were plenty of name brown and black actors who could have sold that movie and they went with pale literally who's. The were asking for a controversy and a flop.

the accurate way would have been to have the entire cast be Hebrews, because that is what the story in the end was about, Moses and all that.

why would casting brown and black actors as ancient egytpians about the tale of Moses and the exodus be more accurate? if white people was bad, just have the entire set be jewish, problem solved.

I'm really not a fan of all these live action versions of Disney movies, mostly because I can't see how they can match the originals in any way. Remakes can match or top the original, but in this instance I just cannot see it at all.

The fact that they'll probably skip over Hercules is perplexing, in that I want to be happy they won't touch it, but will be sad they don't see it as relevant enough.

you think egyptian gods were niggers?

Why would you cast black people and not those who look similar to what people believe Egyptians look like (middle easterners and Indians)? This is just common sense. Cast to audience expectation. No one thinks they look black and no one thinks they look white so don't cast any of those people.

If I recall correctly, Aladdin wasn't Chinese, but just basically foreign.

Essentially, as far from Islamic/European culture as possible - European culture is already a familiar flavor, and most African cultures don't seem technologically and economically advanced enough to fit the whole "exotic kingdom" feel, so, they had the story be somewhere far, and China was as far as they could go.

Absolutely. Have you not witnessed the surge of "muslim girl" porn in recent years? Racists are usually the biggest fetishists.

And for everyone else, it's a Disney movie. So it'll be even more successful than usual.

The Moses movie and 'Gods of Egypt' were two different movies, anons. The Moses one could have cast Israeli actors. But for both of them, casting Arab actors as ancient Egyptians would be as inappropriate as casting Spanish actors as Aztecs.

Alladin was Chinese but essentially just because it was far away.
So it's like when an American wants to write a story outside of America but they basically just write their local style of living because they don't know how they live in the actual location.
Similarly "Jafar" posed as his uncle despite saying he's from North Africa. Similarly because it was the opposite direction of far off and exotic. So either the Arab writers had no idea that Chinese and Berbers would obviously be able to tell there's not a lick of blood shared between them or Aladdin was half chinese or less.

>Israelis
I think you mean Palestinians.

why would you cast Palestinians in a story bout Moses?

>Racists
I don't have anything against muslim girls.
If anything I have a thing for them.

>When you're watching hijabi porn and she starts speaking Spanish

Who gives a shit about any of this??? This isn't world history class/ bible propaganda studies

Trump's presidency has not changed the media's political bias. In fact, I'm sure journalists and comedians are all grateful to have an easy target to bash again for the next 4 years at most.

Aladdin will do fine in that regard. I just worry about the casting of Genie.

>exploding that it's not muslims searching for muslim girl porn

Israeli isn't even the right ethnicity for it.

President Obama made sure none of his American citizens gets sued for expressing freedom of speech responsibly in foreign soils. I'm sure Trimp isn't gonna ban a fucking Disney movie

Has Trump's America changed anything? He can't even pass proper legislation let alone influence public opinion.

The original movie would never have been made post-9/11, so I have my doubts if a live-action remake would do well now.

>Has Trump's America changed anything?
No arabic robins in the batbooks.

that should frighten you, this pretty much cements that your vote will never matter and nothing will ever change.

>everyone is white and Jafar is british
Then the ones ripping this movie a new one will be tumblr, even if the two main roles are being portrayed by minorities.

Jasmine still visits all the disneylands after 9/11 tho

scarlett johansson will play her hahahahahaah

Lol.

Goddamn Sup Forums did you just get triggered when I mentioned blacks? I said they could have cast brown people too. Also casting a black Egyptian is still far more accurate than a milquetoast white kid.

Of course. Aladdin and Jasmin have white physical features. Only the villains look like Arabs.

Okay, I totally was hating on Ghost in the Shell at first, but the trailer changed my mind. I just hadn't watched it yet

It sucks ass. Only the original film and first season TV series are any good.

But is it really?
The Black actors they did cast probably had no closer affinity to Egyptians Black or Not than the white actors they casted.
