So Ashi just got whisked back into the future where Aku lives because of the paradox and didn't die right?

She didn't die, user.

She ceased to exist. Much worse.

If Jack killed Aku, then Ashi never existed.

Then who was phone?

She tore open a portal in time, where causality is suspended. She's wandering Limbo, looking for a way to get back to the world w/out it erasing her.

user. Just chill out and make yourself a snack.

That's so convoluted it sounds like a capeshit retcon.

the only acceptable ending.

>young jack arrives in a different and aku free future.
>someone still ends up calling him jack
>he wanders the earth righting injustices while searching for Aku.
>young jack finds a time portal.
>he goes back to the past. to just after old jack and ashi killed aku and then ceased to exist.
>jack wanders the earth looking for aku
>jack never finds aku, but fights against injustices in the past during the search.

Sad!

That's how I figure user.

Spinoff when?

>tfw daughterfags,Waifufags AND shipfags get btfo
Bravo Genndy!

Best of all, the futurefags got completely annihilated.

lol ashifags

Was everyone losing his master plan all, along? Was that the thing that "no one has done before" genndy mentioned?

Trips confirm.

He wanted to btfo every single headcanon.

His execution stumbled in some regards but I respect a man who does that.

...

...

How is it that the conclusion to Genndy's other series handles time travel 10x better than Samurai Jack, a show with a plot that's kicked off by fucking time travel?

How can you die when you don't exist?

The absolute madman!

As much as I'd like it, how could it be done? We saw the gist of her whole life before she left the cave, and we saw everything that happened to her to the day she died.
Where is the room for a spinoff?

Ashi existed, Jack killed Aku, then Ashi stopped existing immediately afterward. She was still "there" when Jack killed Aku.

Time lost its effect on Jack.

By that logic he's immortal even in his time, and he will spend eternity estranged from everyone.

maybe so

Lesson is: time travel, especially paradoxal, is bullshit.

I think the lesson is, don't try write a bittersweet ending unless you can write it well and build up to/earn it.
People aren't pissed about the end of Alien, or The Thing.

Shhh, we're not starting another thread for ending.
Real bitterness should've came from leaving Scottsman and everyone else behind.

In my opinion, the best bittersweet ending would be accepting that while those from the past are gone, they at least have the afterlife, and Jack can try to rebuild with Ashi.

Naw. Quit assuming you know how magical timetravel works

And so he will continue to age, and as his grief grows with the passing of each loved one he will eventually become a recluse, refusing to end it all only because he knew he owed his family and Ashi more than that. So he exists, continuing to see the world grow and flourish into a future without Aku, a good future where mankind thrives.

But without Ashi, all is hollow.

So Jack distances himself from the world and begins learning about how to change things, how to create life out of nothing and maybe, just maybe, learn how to bring a woman who never existed back into the world of man. Jack, the ageless prince, delves deeper than any human has ever delved into his research, using his curse to his advantage. Magic that is ancient even by Jack's standards mix with technology that far surpasses anything Jack has ever known, and as the eons pass Jack becomes less and less human, devolving to a mere consciousness that is driven by one goal: get Ashi back.

Long after humanity has died out, Jack finds his answer. He finds the power to create, the power to rend time and space is now his to wield as he sees fit. There's just one problem.

Even with such vast power at his disposal, time is still a fickle mistress and refuses to allow that which never existed back into being.

With this revelation, Jack's already strained mind snaps, and all that is left is raw anger and hate left in a body that is not his own. In his blind fury, Jack opens a portal in time to the early days of the universe and sets out to destroy anything and everything. Rationality has all but left Jack, and now that he is without Ashi there is no reason for the universe to exist.

And as he flies through the cosmos, three gods begin to chase him down.

either it's bullshit or it's logical and can be explained

It is magic.

You know technically they could continue samurai Jack.
>Jack living in his timeline thinking all is good
>turns out the timelines are split and while he saved his, Ashi and all of his friends are still fucked in their timeline
>Jack has to go back and defeat AKU

>The retarded afterlife thing again.

The gods were supporting his quest to go back in time, and Jack doesn't age as long as he's in the future. That should tell you that him going back was meant to be.

2 time lines. One with aku and one with jack. ashi exists in neither

>gotta get back, back to my jack, my samurai jack

>Aku dies in the past
>Ceases to exist from the point onward
>Future events that he was involved in never happened
>Time proceeds as normal

Why does Sup Forums over-complicate this shit? It's not rocket science.

Oh yeah I remember the quote where the god's say
>"you are worthy to wield this sword in your quest to go back in time"
They didn't, they only supported his crusade against "ultimate evil"

WHAT WAS JACK'S REAL NAME

Mako

Because in order for Aku to die in the past, he must give Ashi powers in the future.

Wacha.
