they're fucking crazy schlock and aren't trying to impress anybody but their audience. no pretensions just imagination.

It was a simpler time. A time when knocking a woman unconscious so you wouldn't have to listen to her was generally accepted as being a good thing. Truly it was a golden age.

...

i wanna read the blonde phanthom but idk where to find her

...

He's actually knocking her unconscious so she doesn't charge into Clark Kent's rampaging death machine because of influence from psychic brainwaves.

She's Golden Age but unfortunately it seems she's hard to find.

...

still one of my favorites

This iteration of Lois needs more porn

Because batshit crazy is better than batshit serious

...

>implying you read silver age comics

Not giving a fuck is the key to good comics. I realized that while reading issue 5 of the fantastic four.

...

Fucking Kek

...

...

>bootie

What did they mean by this?

Holy fucking shit, Lex.

Truly a peerless man.

Insta-favorite.

...

Test.

>superman becoming euphoric

>cute tyke!
What human being in the history of mankind ever responded to their child's birth with this phrase?

Holy shit Lex

i saw her first comic for 1000 :(

>Lex "Literally Hitler" Luthor

They weren't

They've got issues 12-22

These would have been vastly improved by replacing key objects with penis(es).

this is probably the funniest fucking plan i've ever seen from a villain. goddamn i am still laughing, this is black manta tier

Who? You mean Eichmann?

Man, why is Superman such a dick to thirsty people?

...

...

...

lmfao, who the fuck is that? sivana?

Yep.

I love how he points out that his rocket wasn't really stolen. What a magnificent bastard

...

I like how sometimes, it got to the point where they had to stress that the story was not imaginary.

So sailor moon ripped off batman

This cover speaks for itself.

>actually know the context to all of these
>seeing those Youtube channels that make top 10s who obviously didn't read the comic at all

sounds like they got a lot of angry letters over those bait-worthy covers

>tfw they don't even need the bait covers anymore

doesnt even hesitate

god damn

clark you idiot, now they have to replace that door

>Kal Elphoric

>taunting before the match is over

why would you watch that clickbaity garbage?

Is..... This a political statement about what certain countries should have done?

Lex Luther is not a normal man.

The sad thing is most people can't see the sheer craziness in Silver Age books and just think they're lame.

Separate question, do you think the Silver Age was the best time for Marvel and DC, collectively? DC had their batshit crazy books while Marvel was redefining superhero comics for the future. Both of them were really killing it. I know it would never sell but I sometimes wish DC would go back to the insanity.

Being able to look at them and have a chuckle at how stupid they were doesn't make them any better.

Comics were garbage from their very inception, that's why people opposed comic books so much. Only later they started discovering the medium but even today it's 90% schlock.

I'd dig a book as crazy as the silver age was. I'd even take a Silver Age variant line

>I'll aim this dangerous experimental weapon out the window in the yard our infant son's playing in without really looking at what I'm aiming, what could go wrong?! SCIENCE!

DC didn't peak till the British Invasion, when writers who enjoyed the batshit crazy as kids started taking the medium seriously.

...

...

>That midget is cute!

I love it.

...

...

That's just how Kryptonians say hello.

Lincoln did beat the shit out of an entire gang in his youth. And then they decided it was better to be his friends then get beaten up again later. Then, during his fist ever political speech, broke up a fight by throwing one of the combatant by picking him up by his pants and neck.

Why did Jimmy Olsen fall out of the popular eye while Robin didn't?

Because Robin could actually be useful.

Why is DC so obsessed with witch doctors and gorillas?

Someone explained in a earlier thread that one of DC's comics that had an issue with a gorilla on the cover sold unusually well, so they started putting gorillas on the covers of their comics.

>cowboy showdown against the guy that is impervious to gunshot wounds

hmm

are you 12

I wish there was a Silver Age superhero show with real actors instead of the shit we have right now

...

>He is the greatest villain since Adolf Eichmann!
What did he mean by this?

They already did that.

this is one of my favourites.

That's the way people talked mostly before 80's. They also used the world "gay" a lot for all things that made them happy. Then homosexuals copyrighted the word and old people got very, very sad.

Haha holy shit that's intense

He's a kid! He doesn't know any better!

He's just a poor little black face boy.

Billy dindu nuffin.

damn, Captain Boomerang was OP as fuck

>not any sort of cop-out
>story clearly has a fucking cop-out

Because they weren't taking themselves as seriously as today. people were actually having fun.

This is how people who covered their tests in math class envision their futures to be like
