Are there any other right-leaning creators in the comic book industry?
Not trying to start shit, just curious.

With that said, most right leaners in comics stay silent. There's plenty of them

Edmondson?

Who are your suspects?

Roy Thomas

Frank Miller.

Not him but I think a lot of people at DC are right leaning for the simple fact they don't spout their political opinions like at Mahvel

There are lots of them. Most of them know better than to start shit. That's how it is when it comes to the entertainment industry as a whole.

What are some good Question comics to ready?

Willingham

... Actually, just what the fuck IS Objectivism anyway? No matter how many times I look up a summary, it just fails to make any damn sense.

All I ever get out of it is "Look out for yourself, and everyone else can go fuck themselves.", but I know that can't be right.

Can someone explain this philosophy to me? Cause apparently, me am too dum to get wat point is.

Danny O'Neil's run.

That's pretty much what it is.

Objectivism is the favorite philosophy of sociopaths and people who don't read philosophy.

This so much. #26 especially. The question vs Riddler is such a great matchup.

This is the best explanation I can give.

Read some Mr. A comics. They're insane but weirdly entertaining and expository enough give a decent enough overview

Ditko was big on the idea of absolute morality. "A is A" To simplify, good is good, bad is bad.
And being bad is inherently self destructive. His characters would often look out for people who thought were good, but often let bad people (criminals and so forth) to their own fate.

Question pretty infamously taunts several men as they drown in a sewer in Ditko's run. And Mr. A straight up lets a delinquent fall to his death while taking his mother to the hospital.

Any links?

Why didn't they ever do a Vertigo Question book?

I see yiu've never read a single book on objectivism, let alone the Wikipedia article.

Tell me, is your main source the Rationalist Wikia?

t. Sociopath.

Way to ignore my post and attack me directly.

I see you've never read any philosophy.

young animal when

>Not trying to start shit, just curious.
Riiiight

You don't need to study the whole of philosophy to not give a hyperbolic (and inaccurate) description of one single philosophy.

Shit has already started flying the moment objectivism was mentioned.

It's pretty chill so far.

But both of the statements in that post were facts.

>one single philosophy
except it doesn't even amount to that

How, exactly?

You know he was With Her, right?

I fucking hate it when boards try to talk philosophy.

Everyone has a moment of weakness.

the same as what is wrong with marx, engels, smith and all economist-philosophers that try to create radical systems, their product ideology results in a deterministic mess that cannot account for real world conditions and that rely on assumptions or unescrutable memes such as "human nature"

...

Exactly why I avoid /lit/.

>want to talk about Protector of the Small and how Kel is best Tortall girl
>take a quick look around the board to get a feel for it
>full to the brim with pretentious armchair philosophers who hate everything that isn't extremely obscure dissertations on the nature of man
Yeah no, fuck that.

Pretty much the same conclusion I came to after going to /lit/ for the first time.

He's been at ground zero to Trump's shenanigans, being a New Yorker.

I hardly think that can count as proof that there are right-leaning writers

It's much more likely that it's simply DC having editors actually doing their job and not letting people completely fill the comics with their view of the world to the detriment of the story

Ayn Rand's bullshit. In comics terms, if you've read Watchmen, Rorschach is kind of the parody of that philosophy. There's all that "they'll look up and shout save us and I'll just flick them off because I'm a closet homosexual."

My bets are:
Robert Kirkman
Rob Liefeld
Todd McFarlane
Charles Soule
Frank Cho

Sup Forums pls.

>Rob Liefeld
Yup

Does Nick Bougas count?

The TVTropes explanation made sense to me. Maybe try that?

Kirkman for sure, there's just too much text and subtext in his comics about the need of fascist and totalitarian regime and trying to keep the status quo. Also checked.

Most comic pros are liberal or left-leaning, Chuck Dixon has talked about it before and blames it for the fact he gets no work from Marvel or DC anymore.

>if you keep your political opinions to yourself, you're a right-winger

Surprised you forgot Willingham, OP

He's writing a Bane mini, though.

I doubt it.

Superman and Wonder Woman were both born of the extreme left. Supes is Socialist, and Wondie was created to show women as superior.

is he? How?

Oh, did they bring him back? That's cool. I don't read Marvel or DC anymore, I honestly had no idea, he just use to complain about it a lot.

I'd consider myself liberal but I always liked Dixon's superhero stuff, glad to see he's getting work again.

>I'd consider myself liberal but I always liked Dixon's superhero stuff
Me too. And his GI Joe, and his indies... I know he's a conservative, but since he's not too graphic about that, I'm OK with him.

Lying like you just did there does not make you a good person.

It's funny people always say this because Ozzy and Doctor Manhattan always seem a lot more Objectivist to me. Rorschach is a legitimately good person (Abit a violent psychopath) who feels scarred and horrified when that girl gets eaten up by dogs, and wants to expose the truth about Ozzy's plan even at any cost.

His decision at the end especially makes this stereotype for him weird. A true objectivist wouldn't let themselves get vaporized just to protect the integrity of justice or social consequences.

That guy looks like a homeless bum.

Yes Sociopaths do lie a lot in order to achieve their goals don't they?

A true objectivist wouldn't use public healthcare services; but Ayn Rand eventually did...

A homeless bum who got his cruel revenge on Zack Snyder recently. Do not offend him if you value your life, user.

Nietzsche was only individualist because he grew up in a time when his whole society was proto-nazis and he said "Fuck this don't be a nigger and the world will be better off."
He's inspired as much individualism (Stravinsky) as he has collectivism (Actual nazis).

Hey, I read that series as a kid! I remember little of it, but I remember it being good.

Maybe you should make a short stick figure webcomic of it, to make an excuse to discuss it here. Or home brew a simple RPG and go to /tg/. Actually, you don't even need that, /tg/ had historical and vidya generals as long as its fantasy.

Ayn "Cigarettes don't cause cancer my OBJECTIVITY tells me this in absolute black/white" Rand indeed.

Ozzy is more of a classical egotist seeing how he doesn't pretend to care about morals like an objectivist and Manhattan is a literal god , his egotism is beyond mortal philosophies

His man boner for Napoleon might also have been a factor to his individualism

It's basically the normie and common sense philosophy. Look out for number 1. You're allowed to help others in objectivism just don't put others needs above your own and don't act like people have to follow suit in that act.

People with a hate boner for Rand are just being irrational

>People with a hate boner for Rand
Maybe people just realize that the inevitable result of her economical proposals would result in a corrupt as fuck corporat run international oligarchich system
wel one more overt than the current one at least

>You're allowed to help others in objectivism just don't put others needs above your own
Why?
What if your needs are just to look out for someone or you find their values more worth contributing.

>People with a hate boner for Rand are just being irrational
Humanity is irrational.
Rationality is an imperfect cognitive structure that's only evolved to the farthest capabilities that communication has allowed it. Thinking of everything in terms of rational/irrational or black/white like a robotic turbo-autistic seems pretty unreasonable to me sempai.

>a corrupt as fuck corporate run international oligarchic system
Putin's Russia.

I think most Randtards subconsciously know that but- Owing to the fact that they're trust-fund kiddos and middle-upper class facts, assume they'll be on top and all those workers at the bottom will be a magical McGruffin to help them out or go get fucked.

I've never met a lower class or poor Ayn-Fag, why would someone spend time on pretentious philosophy against their own interests?

Why would you need to look out for someone unless it was a relative or close relation who is younger or incapable. Also contributing how?

Would you say hate boners are reasonable?

>Why would you need to look out for someone unless it was a relative or close relation who is younger or incapable.
You're not getting it. You said
>Just don't put others needs above your own
But why? What makes you so special entitled and important? How does that work out with someones needs are literally other people?
I cannot think of a man whose ever been born and lived entirely on their own.

What?

It is easier to be a victim than it is to take charge of your life. I. E. Tumblr.

Logical isn't what comes to mind when I think of him.

He got into a fight with some retard artist for doing veteran charity work with punisher art I think.

Read pic related.

It's the nature of the beast.

Frank miller, like Cho are center left mainstream democrats.

Miller is pretty fucking liberal outside of his hatred of Muslims

>Right wing Kirkman
He also writes women in a pretty...unflatteringly realistic way. "She'll cheat on you the second you fail as a husband or father" type of stuff.

>why would someone spend time on pretentious philosophy against their own interests?
You mean like going in to five figures of debt to re-brand yourself as a communist?

He also writes gay characters as nigh perfect.

>american concept of right
kek, Frank Miller isnt right wing at all.

>Rorschach is kind of the parody
its not.

It's funny because "FDR-worshipping democrat" has now become "right-wing" thanks to the overton window shift.

There's no left wing in america tho

>Brendan McCarthy
He's not right leaning he just hates SJWs

>Question pretty infamously taunts several men as they drown in a sewer in Ditko's run. And Mr. A straight up lets a delinquent fall to his death while taking his mother to the hospital.
This sounds insanely cool.
Where should I start with those characters?

Don't. At least not the ones Ditko wrote. It's like reading Objectivist chick tracts.

Mr A has pretty much only the appropriately black and white ditko pieces. Question's best run was posted earlier.

Chick tracts with Ditko giving it his A game.

>DC wants their stories to be able to read in the future
>Marvel's political references will horribly date them

...

There is, but they are like the Democrat version of evangelicals.
They get lip service to remind them who's side they are on, then get ignored in favor of the real party positions.
