In case anyone was looking forwards to it, I'm sorry to say that this week's Lost Stars isn't a new chapter but instead a small collection of character art. I'll see y'all in two weeks for the next chapter. There's still a tiny amount of text that could be translated so I'll just get that and do the usual Sup Forums posting
Elijah Thompson
Has there ever been a Kath Soucie character that has died before, let alone murdered as a political ploy?
James Moore
Now that Trevorrow has Tranked, who should Kennedy hire to direct Episode IX?
Chase Ramirez
George
Adam Phillips
Filoni.
Evan Butler
Wait she was at the back of the craft when it explodes but the main body is still intact? we see no dead body? I feel that she is not dead.
Owen Barnes
...
Ethan Campbell
What happened?
Connor Anderson
You feel denial.
Logan Nguyen
For some reason I imagine Sloane voiced by CNN's Isha Sesay and my boner undergoes exponential growth
Lucas Foster
I don't know who that is
Mason Carter
>Wait she was at the back of the craft when it explodes but the main body is still intact? She's under the smoldering pile of rubble in the back right around where the explosion came from
>we see no dead body? I feel that she is not dead. You're just in denial
Christian Moore
For some reason I imagine Revan's inevitable onscreen portrayal being performed by Diamond and Silk (simultaneously)
Colton Morales
His latest movie is a laughing stock with RT rating lower than Batman v Superman.
Blake Wright
NO! SHE WAS ALIVE! I FELT IT!
Ryder Green
no dead body
Owen Perry
>Revan's inevitable onscreen portrayal
She's not coming back, accept it.
Matthew Hughes
Isn't it indie shit? Not like you can compare that to something like Star Wars.
Grayson Nelson
Can't show a body blown to pieces on Disney XD.
Nathaniel Wood
...
Chase Peterson
>ywn be a starfighter ace during the clone wars Why bother?
Brandon Garcia
>tfw no War Thunder style Star Wars starfighter flight simulator video game (Star Thunder?) all I want to do is pilot my y-fu
Jaxon Price
Oh, there and there and there and a few more piece over there
Henry Williams
>no DCS autismo SW flight sim >no X-Wing tier SW flight sim >no Ace Combat in space tier SW flight sim Not a good feel.
Adrian Anderson
...
Christian Wilson
...
Ryder Wright
Is this the holy trinity of good starfighter taste?
Eli Richardson
Yes
Carson Long
What's the third one?
Robert Gonzalez
>y-wing More like Overrated taste
Joshua Ward
Checks out.
I want to remove the tailgunner, make it just a bit sleaker and turn the ARC into a space Tomcat
Andrew Adams
ARC 170.
Julian Hughes
>y wing over x wing Nah
Thomas Ramirez
Fuck, didn't recognize it with the wings folded. I'm ashamed of myself now.
David Phillips
X-wing is ultimate normie-tier.
Ryan Foster
X-wing is already literally an F14 Tomcat >everybody wants to be the Top Gun >the superiority fighter of all time >swing wings
the Y-wing is constantly and consistently underrated by EU-memers whose only exposure to star wars is Rogue Squadron video games, comics, and novels See:
Jayden Davis
I wish that top gun episode/arc happened to give them a spotlight.
Bentley Powell
So what I'm getting is that only hipsters like Y-Wings, got it.
Christopher Sanchez
Does /swco/ like Aphra?
Jayden James
>the air superiority fighter of all time >anthing but the FW190 Jokes aside though, I was more going for the two seater aspect.
With just a bit of modding the ARC can work as a pretty good looking two seater, with s-foils, grumman spaced engines and all.
Asher Myers
>X-wing is literally an F14 Tomcat Yep, automatic 10/10. There's also pic related.
Gavin Jackson
she has potential but it's really being wasted on mystery box bullshit meaningless sidequests instead of actually doing anything important, but that's a symptom of virtually the entire franchise at the moment with the sole exception of Rebels, and prospectively, Battlefront 2 and TLJ
Brayden Wright
She played Tavion, who died no matter what ending you picked in Jedi Academy.
I'm indifferent to her.
Levi Bailey
This week's Lost Stars isn't a chapter. Sorry everyone. >
Parker Cruz
PLEBEIAN X-Wing
CONTRARIAN Y-Wing
PATRICIAN A-Wing
ÜBERMENSCH B-Wing
Daniel Hernandez
the ARC-170 is literally just a P61 Black Widow
thought Tavion was just catatonic at the end of JA, but its been a while since I played it
>mfw nobody realizes these are the original designs for the Z95 Headhunter as invented for the 1979 Han Solo Adventures trilogy instead of the cut-rate, clipped-wing, cuckshed X-wing that it became in the 90s
Jackson Foster
whoops
Cameron Diaz
>ARC-170 is a P61
I thought everyone knew that.
Christian Jenkins
B-Wing a shit, it's no wonder why it's hardly ever used in anything.
Blake Cruz
I like her
You need to stop seeing stories as "important" or "unimportant" because not only is that entirely based on opinion, you never know what's going to be "important" in the future.
Just enjoy the story at hand, or move on and try enjoy the next. Judging based on importance is ridiculous, not everything can be Galaxy-changing. Even the movies have silly sub-plots that go nowhere, like everything Chewbacca does in the entire OT.
Adrian Hall
I swear to god I saw a background character that looked EXACTLY like her who showed up for a split second in a later episode. Even weirder, she was looking directly at the main character group as if to say "hey wait, don't you remember me?"
Maybe they used the same character model?
Bentley Thompson
Close, but there are some small errors in need of correction.
Kelly Comics Today's No-Good Teens: >X-wing
Kelly Comics Freedom-hating Hippies: >A-wing
Kelly Comics Sophisticated Adults: >Y-wing
Kelly Comics Crying Lady Liberty: >U-wing
Kelly Comics Sickos: >B-wing
Lincoln James
pics or it didn't happen
Charles Morales
Literally watch the first episode and you will see the same model used at least three other times.
Christian Cook
Yeah, they actually used a recolored model of a random Lothal citizen for Tua.
Elijah Richardson
There actually was a few characters models reused in Season 1, but they were always tweaked so they weren't identical. Different hair color, ect
Was the only way they were going to do crowds on Season 1's pitiful budget
Lucas Hughes
but everything is being set up as being important with no payoffs, just constant blueballing (outside of Rebels) for the past 3 years
apparently not because people think its an F14
forgot my pic
Isaac Clark
Exactly at worst we get another TFA.
Aaron Cook
That's my trio.
Elijah Mitchell
That's the worst outcome though
Logan Anderson
Holy fuck. Literally all I ever wanted from that show was a space battle arc.
Adrian Garcia
>tfw no George to put shitloads of money into every episode just to make it look good Why did we let this happen? We could be having The Seige of Mandalore instead of The Force Awakens by now.
Bentley Martinez
Its my least favorite to but can we please drop the hyperbole? No a true trainwreck is the worst outcome for example the last fantastic 4.
>Nobody realises I'd heard that, I just didn't know if it was part of any official material or not.
Jose Morgan
>apparently not because people think its an F14 You missed the point I made above in saying that I was looking for a two seater to "convert". The ARC happens to be one of the few if not the only fighter in SW that's a two seater with a sensible seating configuration for something like this.
People perhaps take these real-life comparisons a bit too literal in some cases.
I don't know why the pilots never got too much love. I guess we have Hera now though, but that's not really the same.
Kevin Smith
>no payoffs, just constant blueballing (outside of Rebels) for the past 3 years Canon is only three years old, and we have had;
>Stuff from TCW, Rebels, and some Books paying off with Rogue One, a fucking movie >A New Dawn paying off with Rae Sloane rising up to be a primary antagonist in other books (and a comic) >Shattered Empire comic and Lost Stars is spanning out into a fucking AAA videogame >Side-character in Vader's comic ends up surviving in a VERY climactic final issue, and getting her own comic >Thrawn book setting up other books to explore the Unknown Regions, might even be FO related
There's been some huge cross-media payoffs that were the result of things being set up, and again, shit has only been rolling for 3 years.
Why are you pretending like we haven't had any pay-offs, or strong self contained stories? You're acting like literally everything is being made to "set up" something else, when the reality is that almost all of it is telling it's own story too. And usually very competently.
Not to mention Rebels is for obvious reasons, where the bulk of canon content is coming, and you admitted yourself that the show has been having consistent "important" payoffs, like the origins of the Rebel Alliance, the end to Maul, Vader confronting Ahsoka, and much more.
So your notion that Canon should have had much more "payoffs" by now is ridiculous. We've been getting consistent interesting developments and good stories across the board for three years, and we're only 1/3rd into the ST.
Kayden White
Fuck off Raith, go back to making shitty tanks.
Joshua Harris
If TIEs weren't so shit people wouldn't have to resort to flying Clone Wars or Rebel stuff. Did you ever think about that Sienar?
Nolan Rodriguez
I hope we get a cameo from Ciena REEEE in BF2, considering that LSG guy said the game was connected to that book
Even an audio transmission from her in the Jakku level would be amazing
Caleb Hill
>no TIE fighter >no geonosian fighter >naboo fighter though
Jace Turner
My guess is the connection to Lost Stars is probably the Battle of Naboo after Endor when the Imperials used Naboo as a rallying point. Since they already have Theed as a map for the multiplayer it wouldn't surprise me if they had a story mission where you took part in the Civil War Battle of Naboo.
Samuel Perry
>TIE Fighter you best be joking
Carson Ramirez
I'll give you the bug one, it's kind of neat in a WW2 german fever dream way.
Zachary Scott
Missed the starfighter as opposed to regular fighter, so I'll swap it with TIE advanced. Regardless it has superior A E S T H E T I C S
Matthew Turner
Possibly, but wasn't that also the plot of Shattered Empire? Or did Lost Stars delve into Naboo stuff too?
I only remember it focusing on Jakku post-Battle of Endor.
But the LSG guy at E3 said they were looking to expand out of Lost Stars and Shattered Empire when telling the story. We already saw Sheevbot and Jakku, so there could be even more stuff.
Lucas Lee
What the fuck was his problem?
Austin Baker
Can't hear you over the contracts from the Empire to make shitty vehicles.
Lucas Fisher
No Shattered Empire was set like a day after Endor when the Empire attempted to destroy Naboo as part of Palpatine's contingency plan. They failed and as the Empire was falling to the New Republic Imperials began to use Naboo as a rallying point since it's the birthplace of Palpatine. They fought for months on Naboo until they were defeated at the Battle of Jakku.
Jaxon Gonzalez
Yes
Connor Foster
too much spice
Christian Clark
Lets rephrase that. I think he means nothing anybody gives a fuck about is paying off.
Why did Luke's entire academy come crashing down? We don't fuckin know. Why did Han and Leia's marrige disintegrate? Doesn't really matter outside like two paragraphs of a book that is at best just tease for the last question and justification for TFA's retarded setup. Why did the empire just go along with the peace treaty when we directly fucking see in the book you say will have payoff that they called it retarded and were attacking anyway?
I don't give a fuck about literal whos. You can have payoff all damn day if you keep inventing issues to solve yourself. That's like your car breaking down, then taking an axe to your front door so you can fix that instead.
For fucks sake your entire post is full of maybe's and might be's. You expect the payoff in BF2 to be worth it despite the first game being fucking horrible. You're trying to say the Thrawn book has payoff when you say it MIGHT be vaguely related to the First Order in a way that's neither seen nor confirmed. Rae Sloane is someone people keep pushing as a big deal despite being a literal who who's only appearances are one comic, a wendig book, and a cartoon tie-in nobody read.
The entire idea that NuCanon is "worth it" is at this point just blind faith that's totally undeserved. Disney and Lucasfilm have shat the bed so many times that giving them any kind of benefit of the doubt is fucking absurd.
Hunter Brown
Ahh okay, gotcha
With that in mind, I really do hope certain planets in BF2 will be playable in multiple eras.
Thinks like Kamino and Starkiller should obviously stay within their Era's, but Naboo would be a waste if they keep it PT only.
And as you mentioned, a Naboo mission in the single-player would be fantastic and connect nicely with the connecting media.
Luke Fisher
Am I the only person who is unironically excited for Forces of Destiny? I like the idea of an animated show that just goes all over the place showing little stories in all eras. I don't really give a shit about the female aspect (I wish it wasn't there because it really restricts which characters you can use in it and causes unnecessary shitstorms) but in general it's more animated Star Wars by Filoni so I can't wait for it.
Gavin Lee
Went to the Luft 46 forums too often.
Daniel Taylor
Post lewd.
Leo Phillips
I mean as much as apologists like to make excuses EA has exclisivity, Rebels is on extended cable with a tenth the budget, the entire film trilogy needs to be based on J.J.'s glorified reboot, and Marvel's art is so blatantly horrible and full of tracing the comics are nearly unreadable before you even get into the mess of the stories themselves.
Three years is a long time. If they didn't constantly fuck up people would be happy. For fucks sake regardless of Thrawn it should not have taken that long for Zahn, who was a constant in the EU, to come back. Stackpole isn't back at all. The characters they created have no replacements in the same niche, and those Niche's were filled by old Marvel within three years before it got overwritten anyway.
Benjamin White
My main problem with it is that its artstyle is atrocious. You can make a 2D animated series without it looking ugly. It's like they're actually trying to scare the girls away instead of attracting them to the franchise.
Gabriel Myers
Are you sure? In some countries you could be sent to jail for this sorta stuff.
Isaiah Brooks
Judging by the art style of most little girls' shows, I think Forces of Destiny is spot on for the target audience.
Julian Walker
>Why did Luke's entire academy come crashing down? We don't fuckin know. Because that's going to be answered after the next movie comes out, genius (provided the movie itself doesn't answer it, which is more likely)
>Doesn't really matter outside like two paragraphs of a book that is at best just tease for the last question and justification for TFA's retarded setup. Except Bloodline was actually a fantastic self-contained story, as well as """"""set-up"""""" for TFA. (The book actually had help from Rian Johnson so that it connects well into TLJ too)
>Why did the empire just go along with the peace treaty when we directly fucking see in the book you say will have payoff that they called it retarded and were attacking anyway? I don't understand what you are saying here, but if you're referring to Mas Amedda surrendering at the end of Empire's End, it's because the Empire and New Republic threw everything they had at the Battle of Jakku, and the Empire did not come out in any way victorious.
>I don't give a fuck about literal whos Okay? I assume by "literal who", you're referring to all the non-movie related stuff which you obviously are not following. So all the payoffs with those characters "don't count".
>Rae Sloane is someone people keep pushing as a big deal despite being a literal who who's only appearances are one comic, a wendig book, and a cartoon tie-in nobody read. She's been in two short stories, and the main antagonist of FOUR books. That's four books in three years of Canon. But wait, she doesn't count, does she?
Stop pretending you actually follow canon. It's painfully obvious you're just a buttmad EUfag trying to discredit shit you've never read.
>Disney and Lucasfilm have shat the bed so many times that giving them any kind of benefit of the doubt is fucking absurd. LOL
Ethan Phillips
Forces of Destiny looks fucking horrible. Gradients have never, ever looked good and the big head style just does not work with Star Wars. You can very clearly tell Filoni's heart wasn't in it talking about the project and even the episodes themselves don't look too good. Who the fuck wanted an entire episode devoted to the thirty seconds Rey dealt with the dude with the cyborg horse?
Oliver Cook
:^)
Bentley James
I might be able to buy your argument about Rogue One (even though that itself is really just a nostalgia-porn setup that literally self-immolates in order to defer entirely to ANH and retroactively comprise a memorial to the late Carrie Fisher), but your other examples aren't payoffs, they are in fact the exact opposite, they are teases. I mostly like new canon so far, and I find it far preferable to the mess of the old EU, but as it stands, almost nothing of any significance has been exhibited outside of the Rebels cartoon (certainly not in TFA), and the most objectively important aspects pertaining to the sequel era (final defeat of the Empire at Jakku and the formation of the New Republic) is hidden amidst the deviantart fanfiction-tier schlock of Aftermath's melodramatic OC's. EVEN THEN it barely explains anything important beyond a few offhand sentences here and there, consisting almost entirely of various character angst.
Bentley Davis
>The "Everything Lucasfilm does is shit even though I've never read/watched it" and "Muh Stackpole" EUfags are back Oh boy, it's been a while since I saw this episode
