Moral Orel is great and I'm sad it was prematurely ended. I personally also loved Home Movies, and still love the Venture Brothers.

The slow transition from season one to three. Some bumper during a rerun even said it was their smartest show.

Moral Orel fails as a satire/parody, and doesn't have the writing chops to succeed as a bitter melodrama. What you instead get are characters with one-dimensional issues putting on cliché facades while the show attempts to make its tired, matchstick point.
