I think they have a mutual non-competition agreement. Shin-Godzilla lined up with Kong, so that was fine, but there isn't a similar opening until later.

How powerful is Legendary compared to Shin?

Shin Godzilla was a great design, he became more horrific looking like a true monster but I think he was way too tall.
I get he's allegorical of the Fukushima disaster and was a huge problem but a creature that tall just breaks my suspension of disbelief. I just keep thinking about how his bone density had to be out of this world to not collapse on himself.

Difficult to say, Shin is more a creature like destroyah or hedorah than a traditional godzilla. And has a range of powers unique to it.
So far, legendary Goji is just an upscaled regular Goji, presumably more powerful but we don't even know what other powers he has besides the regular nuclear breath attack and the insane strength and durability that comes with being Godzilla.
But if we just take the powers shown in their respective movies and limit it to only that, I'd say Shin's got Legendary beat.

Like they are going to show any action at all. They will probably shoehorn more kids in the movie and kids will be in the center of the screen and battle will be blurred and in the corner behind some boring kid and woman story.

2014 Godzilla was garbage. They gave the Kaiju barely any screentime and kept them in the background the entire film. Godzilla was on screen for maybe 20 seconds and the fight scenes were worthless. I hope they learned from the Success of Shin Godzilla and stop being such pussies. Skull Island was ten times the movie Godzilla 2014 was.
