Because Lee Mac is the ultimate foil to David Mitchell's general toffery and David tempers Lee's rambling by astute observations that puncture his smugness at some points.
Also Rob is enough of a proper actor and achieved entertainer to not give a fuck about sucking up to guests or getting offended when they dig his welshness or his height - he lets the show flow and actually referees well
it only goes to shit when they have those bullshit Millenials on like Russel Howard who have been on so many panel shows that its' more about their attention whoring and shilling rather than actually playing the guessing game well
The only good panel shows are WILTY and QI (pre blonde lady). Right?
>QI (pre blonde lady )
>Also QI pre millenial shits
yep, and when they still could have Clarkson on and have real bantz before the PC police got assblasted about diversity and dick jokes
Who the fuck is this. I remember you from the last thread.
i only recently discovered this show and i like it a lot
thanks brits
It's only good cause they got Ronnie Corbett to host
I hated Lee Mack until I watched this
Also Bob Mortimer is god tier on this
fuck these shows and their comfy middle class neolib "banter". I'm sick of Mitchell's smug face
what thread
i post her on fit a lot but not here
I don't even think most normies in england have seen peep show
This show has confirmed for me that Bob has lived a very full and strange life
Did you take the video? Got any more?
They have. It went on Netflix, and ever uni student has watched it.
>its a this unfunny pleb is on episode
the core format + Lee, David and Rob make it one of the greatest panel shows of all time, all episodes are varying degrees of great, and even the shittiest of panelists (often picked for diversity quotas) are made funny by Lee, David and Rob interacting with them. For the first time that canadian blonde bitch was actually tolerable on a british tv show last episode. ya can't beat WILTY
The lady from bake off is the worst. Why do they put her on panel shows? She always seems confused and rants like a retard,
>For the first time that canadian blonde bitch was actually tolerable
these three are the holy trinity
performing miracles
I did not take these videos
>when they still could have Clarkson on
They've had him on after being sacked, haven't they?
like youd think Melvin would have been a shite panelist picked for diversity, but he was actually really funny when he said shit like with the James story sleeping in a bus. Perfect panel would be David, Lee, greg davies, bob mortimer, Claudia and James
Preferred Deaton
>David, Lee, greg davies, bob mortimer, Claudia and James
I actually want to see that happen now. Greg and Bob could have a competition to see who can have the most ridiculous true story.
To be fair I thought he was funnier than most younger British comedians e.g. the cunt in this pic, Josh Widdicombe, Jack Whitehall who are all dogshit
the cabbage story was alright
His BBC Live set was alright. He goes on a pretty odd bit about football chants at one point.
>jack whitehall
HAHAHA I just said my mates name!!! On camera!!! AHHAHAH
An hour long episode with those 6, everyone gets one truth/lie to tell plus both panels get the usual 'this is my'. Claudia's interaction with James would be great, Greg would be creased at everything Bob would say. Having all those people, who are the best panelists of all time, would be fucking kino. But it's entirely white and mostly male (go figure) so we'll never get it
Sean Lock is one of the naturally funniest people I've seen on TV. I watched some of his stand up and it's nowhere near as good as his material off the cuff. He is very quick witted. GOAT tier panel guest IMO.
Deaton is ultimate comfy
so much so that it borders on surreal sometimes when there is so much absurdity while he keeps his calm and reserve
He and Rowan Atkinson were kino
I don't mind Whitehall as much for some reason.
He's the true definition of a ponce
In that segment where they bring people out. Has anyone laughed out loud. I know I would and I haven't seen anyone do it.
Post a goat episode lineup
>Sean Lock
>David Mitchell
>Richard Ayoade
>Bill Bailey
>Lee Mack
>Bob Mortimer
insert Greg Davies and it's alright.
Sean Lock is so effective because his humour is disarming. He doesn't target people with a retort or try to pun or wit around a subject but he just goes meandering - not exactly tangents but his soft spoken observations on something that is slightly absurd but not so much that it turns into some tryhard hamfisted non sequitur
you can just watch his cheeky grin and know he has something cooking
Best Lee Mack scene?
Best David Mitchell scene?
Best Rob Brydon scene?
because lee, david and rob are good friends in rl, so their chemistry translates over into the show and bob mortimer
Just about to watch the latest episode, can't believe it's over already and I have to wait another year before it's back.
>Anglo
>Mitchell
He's tainted by Pictish blood.
I love when the most absurd stories are true, like Bob Mortimer doing his own dentistry.
The cabbage story was brilliant.
Bob Mortimer is the best because he throws a lot of panellists off with his bizarre tales. However you never know which are true because Bob is such a weird fella.
Do you have a source for these webms?
This seems pretty good user
youtube.com
probably my favorite, tho i find greg to be really funny in general so theres that
youtube.com
ok it was pretty funny
english show threads are so comfy. btw, is the new big fat quiz out yet?
i think there was two
there was the yearly one a couple of weeks ago, and another i ended up watching. But maybe the second one was a repeat
Yeah, they did another Big Fat Quiz of Everything recently, it's on youtube. It was okay.
I'm bad with names but I'm sad they changed hosts from season 2 - 3. I enjoyed the dry sass of the original host. Chipper mcsmiley is too happy
Angus Deayton was shit.
>its a david goes nuclear episode
They're told to not even smile but occasionally they crack up. Most of them are remarkably good at keeping a straight face.
oh yeah I just searched. such a 'meh' lineup tho
Why does it seem that 90% of the 'this is my' people are for Lee? David doesn't have as many.
Because they're hard and hes the best at improv. Or should I say, funnier at improv.
Makes sense.

where is your token woman user?
you mean the normalos
Claudia is WILTY waifu, hands down
It's obviously Tara.
youtube.com
Especially 8:30 onwards.
A bit hard to have her in any more shows though user.
dailymail.co.uk
but she's dead user
It's not like that was the producer deciding on who to have next, geez.
She lives on in my heart.
Honestly Jimmy..

Most standup in the UK isn't even "proper" standup. For some reason every TV personality gets to do it, doesn't matter if they're good or not.
I like Sean, but yeah I don't think his standup is that great. In fact I don't think I've seen any UK standup be funny/funnier than their other stuff.
its shit now because they're forced to put at least one woman and one minority on the panel
Frank Skinner is (or was) a hell of a lot funnier in his stand up routines than he is on Room 101.
youtube.com
Skinner's an odd one. I've seen him on panels and he was dreadful. I think the format throws him off or he's to polite to interrupt or something.
I love Frank Skinner. He doesn't do much for me on panel shows, but he's a genuinely funny man in all the other things he does.
He has a weekly radio show that's released as a podcast and I listen to every one of them, they're great and a part of my weekly life now.
>He has a weekly radio show that's released as a podcast
ill have to check that out, thanks user
David
Rob
Lee
The comfy trinity
just how patronising that is to do that is completely lost on these organisations, it's bizzare all it does is fuel resentment and divide people up into little boxes
it's basically just acknowledging at an institutional level that these people don't have the ability to acheive these things on merit, it's just outright offensive
stupid cunt
The Richard Osmond episode was pretty good too. I liked them talking about getting a show made.
>its a miranda hart episode
The snuggle jumper was a miranda episode
HALL OF FAME:
Sean Lock
Lee Mack
Bob Mortimer
Greg Davies
they can single handedly save any show they appear on
I like acaster, he's an ok comedian in an absolutely shit generation.
His stories on Graham Norton are always great. Every time you think he's ran out of stories from his time as a teacher, he brings out a new one. Or his 'This is my' with his mum.
which james are we referring to? I also like osman a lot on the show.
I'm a fan of his humour, painting absurd pictures with a straight face always works on me.
>tfw Bob Mortimer will never beg your pardon for being in your garden
What ever happened to that horse, anyway?
I was pleasantly surprised by the black dude, he was chill and the sort of fed the other actual comedians in the show.
>you'll never have a friend who's a sniper's dream
...
panel shows will never be the same now that they are forced to include unfunny women
Is Kevin Bridges the best Scottish comedian?
Great on panel shows and his stand up is fantastic too
no it's jerry sadowitz, kevin comes close though
>every episode now has to be clogged up by an unfunny woman and an unfunny ethnic
Can you imagine being at school with a group of lads like them? The classroom banter must've been tremendous. Not to mention the beatings they probably all got from the teachers.
>Is Kevin Bridges the best Scottish comedian?
You are taking the piss, right?
>WHAT SORT OF A MENAGERIE DO YOU IMAGINE THAT I WOULD BE IMAGINING? AH, HERE I AM IN MY CASTLE WITH TEN DIFFERENT TYPES OF VAGUELY POSH ANIMAL, BEFORE I KILL A SERVANT AND HAVE SEX WITH A WALL.
People who are capable of being genuinely witty tend to go into a brilliant overdrive when they're mad about something.
>they have both in one unfunny cunt and STILL they bring another from either column
I can respect him for how he takes other peoples jokes at his expense, he's always the one who's laughing hardest to Jimmy Carr's big teeth jokes
>mfw he's the only young panelist I can stand, unless you count Richard Ayoade
The funny thing is, apparently most comedians hate doing panel shows and would rather just do stand-up.
