It's all about peeps going from the outside and looking in with preconcieved notions about the culture surrounding them and the impact of material on those in it. At most it could be taken as one of the 'turning points' into the current era of comics, but the comics 'ages' system is pretty broken for relying on individual works as singular milestones and still sticking to the idea of a dark/iron age which hasn't ended or ended at arbitrary point.
