What are your hopes/ideas for Pink Diamond and White Diamond's debuts later this season? What do you think their personalities and appearances will be like?

White Diamond - who cares.
Pink Diamond - mommy obviously, she had the best fucking gems.

>not caring about the mothergem

poor taste desu

I honestly hope the show finishs the diamond arc and then has a new storyline were steven faces an orgainic alien race. Also, i hope blue diamond gets a human male mate to staisfy my 40 foot tall depressed thicc girl needs

So far the series has led us to believe that the diamonds are intimidating figureheads who are confident in their decision-making skills. While I see White Diamond as the mother of gemkind, she is often above all the day-to-day functions of all other gems. She is the god of gods in society- not even associating with her fellow diamonds very much. White is distant yet benevolent. White Diamond was more involved in gem society until Pink Diamond's death shook her core. Pink Diamond was shattered; Diamonds are supposed to be indestructable. White Diamond saw herself as mortal & susceptile to being dedtroyed just as easily. While Blue Diamond wallows in the past & Yellow forges ahead in rage, White Diamond lives in constant fear. White Diamond did not attend the trial out of fear Rose Quartz would shatter her too.

>So far the series has led us to believe that the diamonds are intimidating figureheads who are confident in their decision-making skills.

The show has literally done no such thing. Peridot tried to give that impression and her entire arc was kicked off with the reveal that it wasn't true. Since then we've been shown pretty explicitly that Blue is a blubbering fucking mess that ignores her duties and Yellow is a stressed out hothead that swallows her emotions.

If anything, White will be the only one with her shit together.

Pink Diamond was created to be another natural leader that is more grounded in ruling. Up until we get to see Pink Diamond's face, the series will perpetuate the perception of Pink Diamond being a tyrant. That is going to be far from the truth.

Pink Diamond is the baby diamond. She's inexperienced. She doesn't know what she is doing. Blue & Yellow are doting sisters. They want Pink Diamond to be the best leader that combines both of their expertise. Pink Diamond was made to lead, but she has no desire to lead.

As a highborne gem, Pink Diamond was allowed enough freedom to develop herself as an individual that she is able to question what she wants. Pink loves her sisters & does not want to defy them. She reluctantly agrees to head Earth colonization after much nagging to step up as a diamond. When Pink arrives on Earth, Pink falls in love with the advancing creatures & builds a sanctuary to continue the race. But soon she sees life that is not predestined to be soldiers or servants or leaders. Everyone starts out blank. Pink realizes that colonizing the Earth will only continue the culture of collectivism instead of individuality. She doesn't want to be another diamond. She wants to be free to choose her own destiny. The other diamonds would never understand. Blue is intruding on her development of Earth because the diamonds do not like how Pink is progressing.

In an unrelated subject, Pink Diamond is a total flirt. She's a cutie pie.

Bumping for activity

> She's inexperienced. She doesn't know what she is doing.

Aren't gems basically created to know exactly what they're doing?

Gems don't seem to know exactly what to do in particular situations. They have a code of conduct, but gems still have free will.

I would imagine gems do not have much control over what diamonds are coded with since they are rarely made.

what this user said

Yellow Diamond doesn't look right with that long of a tailcoat...

I am of a mind that Pink is foreshadowed by Steven.
Rose Quartzes are, IIRC, known to be used to fake pink diamonds, so I expect Rose and her kind to be very similar to Pink in personality.
And that means Pink may have a self-sacrificial streak, too.
Taking that and how much her Gems are like humans compared to others, maybe she was ready to give up everything so humanity would live.
And that means cast herself as the villain, start a rebellion (I assume Roses were her the closest to her, a bit of a body guard, and therefore a natural choice) and end colonisation of Earth.
We know Rose had a lot of secrets and regrets. Maybe being designated traitor was the biggest?

White Diamond: pretty much what everyone thought Yellow Diamond was going to be like after the extended intro. Badass, has a real presence when in a scene, competent, and generally less emotional than her sisters. I figure the white-coded gems are more "sterile" than the other factions. More robotic, at least outwardly. I hope they feel threatening.

Pink Diamond: don't know but honestly I'd be very disappointed if they try to play the whole "she's a perfect benevolent Diamond who didn't deserve what happened to her" angle. I want her to at least have some evil attribute that partially sparked the war. It'd be lame if Rose wasn't the first Gem to realize the beauty of life and she was just copying Pink or something. I want PD to have a morbid curiosity with organic life, perhaps even experiment on them. Rose *loves* life meanwhile PD is *interested* in life. Something like that.

Pink will be a freak that was so obsessed with organic life that she tried turning Earth into a cancerverse.

White will be some AM-tier god-AI that was programmed to gemfect the entire known universe to combat entropy while preserving information processing. With Pink Diamond (her ID) destroyed, she's been distant but performing efficiently as of late. Stephen will have to deactivate Yellow and Blue before discovering the frozen humans on the moon in the good ending.

I'd actually like someone completely unexpected as far as a character type goes.

Ideally? I'd like White Diamond to have a "Hades" esque personality, so a calm and fake!playful smooth talker with a hell of a manipulative streak.

She'd be the perfect foil/challenge for Steven that way too.

Going by the four temperaments theory:
Yellow Diamond - Choleric (bad-tempered and irritable)
Blue Diamond - Melancholic (feeling or expressing pensive sadness)

That leaves us with Sanguine and Phlegmatic.
Since the Diamonds' personalities are often reflected in their subjects, you could make an educated judgement on what the personalities of the diamonds we haven't seen yet be.
Pink Diamond - Sanguine (optimistic or positive), since most of her subject we've seen, like the Famethyst or even Rose Quartz certainly have a cheery disposition.
White Diamond - Phlegmatic (having an unemotional and stolidly calm disposition), even though we hadn't seen any confirmed members of White Diamond's court, White Diamond falls to this due to the process of elimination. It also makes sense thematically, since the color white can be associated with calm and stoic characters.

Pink Diamond created all the Rose Quartz gems to protect and take care of the humans at the Zoo.
That's why Rose Quartz gems have an ability to heal, look similar to humans, and the zoo has the space for the Quartz gems to live in, also why all the rest of Rose Quartz gems are bubbled there.

Both Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz loved humans, but in a different and conflicting way.
Pink Diamond showed her love by preserving the species at the specifically made for them zoo, since their planet would've been eventually destroyed. She probably even made an entirely new type of gem, so that she could preserve organic life, even if it meant doing so by the means of zombification.
Rose Quartz love the humans due in a more philosophical way, as she saw the humans' freedom of choice in life as a marvelous thing, and it meant that freedom being taken away from them as they were locked away in the zoo for most of their lives. In other words, she saw Pink Diamond tampering with humans and their lives as a bad thing.

she's in the chest

I think there was more to the zombification than simple preservation. The zoo had no problem maintaining a healthy population for thousands of years, and that was with an asshole Agate and a bunch of quartz that weren't even meant for the job. They wouldn't need the zombie power just to take care of the zoo unless she was trying to obsessively preserve individual humans and not just the species, and that still wouldn't explain why she'd give them powers.

I think she was planning to integrate them into gem society. A large number of pink humans would basically be a superior warp pad network, so useful that even snobby gems might tolerate it.

It makes sense and it also makes sense why Rose Quartz might've hated this idea, as it stripped away the freedom and grown aspects of humanity, something that she put on the pedestal.

Eh. A really weak motivation. Also she has Lion.

She ONLY had Lion. You'd think there would be more pink zombies made over a period of five to six millennia.
The motivation is the one that is currently most likely plausible, judging from Rose's dialogue in Greg the Babysitter.

>tfw neither of those things will happen.

White is the star on whose axis the gempire turns. Her influence is exerted like a natural force, her will is unseen but felt by every loyal servant like a brand. The geas of her decrees write chains upon the souls of her subjects, her very voice an unbreakable commandment. Her sisters are but fragments, aspects, of her person. They work her will upon the reaches of her vast empire.

I don't have any hope for this show anymore. White Diamond will probably be another crying mom just like the other diamonds.

I'm not sure her fascination with humans would motivate her based on what would be a rather minor concern, I imagine.
She seems to have mostly viewed them like amusing little monkeys until Greg. I don't think she would have made a point of personal rights 6k years ago, given how primitive the people would have been. Her experience would have been more like an animal rights thing, I guess.
Plans to integrate humans into Homeworld sound like something far beyond sensible demands for more effort on their behalf. This would be uplifting them to a spacefaring civilisation, after all.
No, if there was a dispute it would be over destroying Earth as a biosphere. But again, I think it unlikely that Rose and PD had a falling out at all. Shattering PD as the one already closest to her own position does not sound right to me. Why not Yellow? Killing a military leader seems more reasonable. And she was more aggressive regarding Earth from the beginning, given Pink built the Zoo and Yellow wants to scuttle it.
My point here is that it is a better twist if Rose did not shatter PD out of spite or anger over a rather fanciful sentiment but as a result of PD's personal plans. That seems more in line with the show's themes around personal emotions.

and then she spoke
>DISPERSE
every gem in the area gave up their form in that instant, except Steven who doubled over and groaned in pain.

Pink Diamond is Rose in the body of one of her soldiers. Pearl was PD's pearl.

I feel like Pink Diamond was actually on the Crystal Gems side, she became a Martyr, as in "If the crystal gems can even kill a diamond, the other diamonds will leave Earth alone" or something like that

White diamond is a robot(even more than the other gems), created by an ancient advance civilization. Created just to create other gems. When that civilization vanished, it/she decided to create one herself

GIEZ WHAT IF ROSE WAS PINK DIAMOND ALL ALONG!

PD's Pearl and CG Pearl are two different gems.

You think Pearl promised her to never tell anyone?
It would make sense from all the points we have so far.
Pearl's suit, the promise to Rose the nature of which was never specified, Pearl's pride as a confidant, the terrible conflict that keeps her mouth shut.
It fits with Steven's abilities, his personality etc.
But we have no precedent for Gem consciousness permanently leaving their stones for another host. Far as we know they are programming on a crystal matrix.

Well, if PD's Pearl was around, she'd have been a prime witness.
But we never saw her.

It could be less an issue of rights, and more just the concept pissing Rose off. Her real interest wasn't protecting humans or bunnies or the pretty landscape, it was escaping the caste system that was coded into them from "birth". She liked humans specifically because they were free of that, so a plan that would bring them into that system and bind them to a role would have been horrible to Rose, even if it was (arguably) a good thing for humanity as a species.

Another possibility is that White and Rose were working together to kill her.

Pink is young and coming up with radical new ideas like using organics, her sisters already adore her, and her subjects go rogue on a hair trigger. White sees a threat to her power and the empire's stability, but can't just kill her without the other two rebelling, so she strikes a deal with Rose and promises to let her keep Earth. She sets Pink up to die at Rose's hand, then backstabs her from orbit with the song. Problem solved.

CG Pearl was one of the first gems to join the rebellion, and by the time Garnet joined, she was already a well known renegade.
Pink Diamond was shattered well into the war, and the Zircon's assumption was that PD Pearl was still loyal to her during the moment of her shattering, which wouldn't be the case if CG Pearl was PD's Pearl.

I think Pink Diamond was supposed to be a Red Diamond, but was born an off-color.

One thing though.
There must've been enough time between PD's shattering and the Corruption Nuke, for Yellow Diamond to establish the secret area beneath the Alpha Kindergarden and make the forced fusion experiments that would eventually lead to the inception of The Cluster.

That didn't necessarily happen before the nuke. Corrupt gems aren't that strong and there's no lingering radiation-like effect, a small force could've come down after and secured whatever areas were needed. The CGs never finding out could be because they mistook those forces for a simple mop-up operation, and decided it was best to just stay out of their business and let HW think they were all gone.

Pink Diamond was like a mother and her Gems were like her children. She was a caring, loving, mother figure to all her followers.

White Diamond on the other hand is literally Darkseid.

Homeworld gems were all given a signal to abandon the planet before the Corruption Nuke happened, and the Crystal Gems made it seem like all the Homeworld activity ceased at that point. Also, judging from what Peridot said, the artificial fusion experiments lasted a few hundred years, which is far too long to be mistaken for a simple mop-up operation.

I don’t think most Gems know anything about what happened on Earth during the evacuation or after. Jasper didn't seem to know anything about corruption or who was responsible.

Peridot would know shit about the fusion experiments since she read the reports of them.

>of them
*on them

I hope Pink will be nice, and it's shown Garnet's view of her is skewed.

And White, well, I expect a really scary being for once... the kind of Diamond Yellow wishes she was.

They were given the signal because it was a planet-scale attack, there's no reason (based on what little we know about the song) that a few ships couldn't have turned right back around and landed after the blast was over.

The experiments taking centuries and happening during the war doesn't seem quite right. The war only lasted about a thousand years, and they only decided to do the cluster after giving up on the colony, wouldn't that mean a substantial chunk of the war was just HW keeping up appearances while they tinkered with planet killers? Also, HW gems getting caught despite the evac order implies the nuke was a sudden decision, and the only thing I can imagine making the diamonds do something hastily is PD's death, which would mean an extremely tiny gap between events.

I hope Pink Diamond is really dead and stays dead. Like Rose, she should only show up in flashback form or some kind of recording. I wouldn’t mind seeing a gem shapeshift into her or something for some reason, though. That could be a neat plot.

Also, what we do see of her should at least give us some reasons why people like Blue Diamond and Jasper loved her so much. Again, like Rose. We’ve seen why the other characters loved Rose so much in their memories of her. Pink Diamond is a mystery though, so Jasper and Blue Diamond and Yellow Diamond clearly loved her, but we haven’t yet been shown why. It’d be disappointing if this was never addressed.

White diamond has a lot of hype to live up to and I’m trying not to set myself up for disappointment by getting too attached to my own headcanons. I know some people are expecting her to be lofty and godlike and emotionless, and that’d be cool, but I want to stay open to other possibilities if she’s not.

I hope Pink will be truly villainous. Vain and materialistic. With a Time Castle in the future, that would make a gems like Padparadscha useful. He humble mural with only 1 planet was actually deceitful and was planning to take over the order.
It would undermine the Crystal Gem's characters if they shattered this innocent little sister character.

It's clear that they are the same Pearl with another design, Pearl has many after all. There is not reason to doubt about it.

>You think Pearl promised her to never tell anyone?

No, I think that someone (PD/Rose) forbade her to do so using weird magic methods and that's why she can't talk about that secrets even if she wants to do so.

I don't think she'll be an innocent little sister, but they've been showing pretty clearly that the CGs' claims about HW aren't always 100% reliable. Blue doesn't "hate fusion and love" and Pink probably won't be a total megacunt. Could be a bit of a cunt though.

No one is gonna die in this story.

It’s still okay for people to have died before the story even began, though.

Well,if i was writing it(its gonna get a bit fanfic-y,just be glad im not a writer on SU)
>Pink Diamond
Basically a less terrible version of Joffrey, to show why she needed to die. She was an inmature brat who didn't care about her responsibilities and ruled the only planet other than homeworld with sentient life and a planet that had a lot of potential to develop. She wasnt 100% evil and did think that kidnapping humans was good, but she needed to die for the good of both sides, regardless of what YD and BD think about it.
>White Diamond
Weird as fuck bitch who helped both sides of the war due to her hatred of pink diamond and love of earth´s "potential". Also the most powerful diamond.
But besides her, what i want to see the most is white diamond gems. Besides possibly pearl we have never seen a single white diamond gem or a hint on what they do. We have seen plenty of yellow, blue and even pink but nothing about white. Even if pearl is from WD it doesnt matter because shes just a pearl.
Give me those white gems rebecca

yellow diamond dindu nuffin
and the war was started by some unknown butthurt ayylien
