The comic book adaptation of the original script George Lucas wrote for the first Star Wars, it's interesting seeing the surprising differences if you compare it with the final result.

For a bit of trivia, that ship is the original Falcon, which was scrapped fairly late as they realised it looked too similar to the ship in Space:1999.
I read the first issue in a Chapters a very long time ago once. Really wanted to see more. Thanks for this story time, OP.

Those tiny two-seater star destroyers are pretty funny looking back. Wouldnt be surprised if they were already in the EU somewhere though.

Look at those tiny baby star destroyers, they're so cute!

it's a storytime dear, this is different, lurk more!
I dig Vader's "Punished Nazi Superman" look.
it's me or that fat alien looks like David Rockefeller?
I heard they just reused the design for the original falcon and turned it into the rebel blockade runner

Yep, the cockpit was taken off (and used on the new Falcon I imagine) and swapped for what would become the Blockade runner's cockpit.

>David Rockefeller
I thought he looked kind of like Roy Brocksmith.

Yeah, it's pretty good.
Maybe I'm just easily impressed but I always thought this was a very strong scene somehow.
Does anyone here actually prefer it to the original movie?
one of the alternate covers for it.
let's go for the second issue.

Isn't there a TIE ship similar to this design?

Eh. Star Wars' main strength was in its beautiful simplicity and compactness of the plot with a rich and powerful thematic background. This shows very little of that, and indeed seems to resemble the prequels in the way the plot unfolds. Which is quite telling.
That's not to say it isn't interesting in itself, but I think what we got is a superior story from what I see so far.

I thought Luke's original name was Dirk Starkiller?
Except there's no inminent threat in the prequels, it's mostly just...people talking

Have I missed the Stormtroopers on Battle Ostriches?

Is that Bateman?
Is that Sinestro?

Maybe he is Overman in the far future?

Interesting to see where he CIS tank design started life. Though I guess the reason the Prequels look so visually coherent with the universe is because so much is based on unused ideas and designs for the OT.
It's seems Doctor Eggman wants to attacks Proto-Tatooine.

There's a lot of good designs in there that look like they belong to the star wars universe. Of course there are also plenty of shit ones, but things like Battle Droids, the spaceships, etc all look coherent with the established universe.

>You're a mindless, useless philosopher
This line seems to fit R2's personality in the movies.

I never understood why they tend to have their names spelled out like this.

just to put a little ambiance, look at the 1976 trailer: youtube.com
