All this year I'll be posting Punisher comics. Most of them will be from the pre-Ennis era, but some will be from the Ennis era. Expect at least 1 storytime per week.
The last few days I've been posting underrated/obscure Punisher releases from the early 90s.
I posted Die Hard in the Big Easy, where The Punisher fights a voodoo with doctor gangster that looks like Papa Shango from the WWF, in this thread: And then I posted the mystery-adventure story The Prize in this thread: I also posted Jim Starlin and Tom Grindberg's SPECTACULAR miniseries The Ghosts of Innocents in this thread: And yesterday I posted both Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's one-shot prequel to the Thomas Jane Punisher movie over here: as well as The Punisher's 20th Anniversary "preview"/promotional "magazine" in this thread: Some else that I also posted yesterday was Bloodlines, by Punisher creator Gerry Conway and artist Dave Cockrum. It's one of the few Punisher stories set in the 70s, RIGHT after he becomes The Punisher. In fact, based on the accepted canon, it's likely one of his first ever missions as The Punisher. You can read that story in this thread: Today I'm going to post another early story in the Punisher continuity. One of the few stories set before he had his own series (that was published AFTER he had his own series). This time it's the origin story of Microchip, co-written by Mike Baron, who created Microchip in the first place, and Carl Potts, who wrote the first couple of years or so of The Punisher War Journal.

Frank Miller's Daredevil is actually probably my single favorite work by a single author on a single (superhero) character. I don't even like Daredevil, but I absolutely love everything about that run. I've seen others storytime it before, and while it's certainly less demanding than what I've done with The Punisher storytimes this year, I just don't really have the time to do regular storytimes in general next year, regardless of which storytime exactly.
So, no, not gonna happen. Though as I've said before, if I had time I'd share comics with you guys every day. It's just that I DON'T have that kind of time, and it was already insanely time consuming to do what I did this year as it was.
I'll still post the occasional random storytime here or there, but regular storytimes are just not something I can keep doing. It just takes way too much fucking time and is too much of an inconvenience.

Inexcusable. One of the best classic rock bands.

That is to day one of my favorite moments, favorite issues, and favorite story arcs in not just Punisher comics, but in all of comics in general. The Punisher has never been colder.

Julian Peterson
wow microchip really is a piece of shit
this is the least sympathetic portrayal of him I've ever read, even more so than when he trapped The Punisher in a warehouse basement dungeon or In The Beginning
Angel Moore
80s computer hacking seemed so unreal at the time. Like these guys had irl superpowers. It's a shame that computers have been so de-exoticized because it's basically made cyberpunk impossible to take seriously anymore.
Charles Kelly
That ending is so fucking ominous if you know what happens to him.
Christopher Cooper
What was Frank up to before his family died? Some stories say he was a cop, other say he was a Drill Instructor, and I recall one mentioning mercenary or pmc type stuff.
Brody Taylor
I think the only time that period of his life was explored in detail was Aaron's run.
Nathaniel Flores
That was pretty fucking good.

They actually gave Microchip a really interesting origin story that stands on its own apart from The Punisher's. I'm genuinely surprised.

I want to say, OP, that thanks to you, 2017 has been the year of the Punisher. Between your storytimes of the highlights of decades of comics, and the very good Punisher ongoing about Vietnam (and the... problems, that other Marvel comics had this year), there's no doubt in my mind that more comic book readers have become Punisher fans than any other Marvel hero. Well, antihero, but I'm not going lower than that.
