A must read for every capefaggot

Isn't there a Avatar fanfiction with Zuko and Katara that Sup Forums keeps posting every now and then?

Was about to post this.

If Watchmen is a perfect cynical deconstruction of capes, Astro City is a perfect hopeful deconstruction of capes.

Been meaning to get around to reading this.
Kurt Busiek is such a reliable capeshit writer.

pol/ get out.

Maus is considered by many to be the greatest graphic novel ever made. Not just because of the story, but the technical design of the panels and pages as well.

The trades are sort of hard to get, a lot are out of print. But if you can find them you should definitely read it.

Never read these

I wouldn't even call it a deconstruction....more like a genuine celebration. It just focuses on all the best aspects of capestories and ignores the rest. All-Star Superman is the only other similar concept that comes to mind.

mate i consider maus essential reading as well but calling anyone who disagrees with you Sup Forums before you even know their reasoning doesn't help anyone. Just makes this board more of a political hellscape.

Fair nuff

Nope

...

Yeah, by (((many)))

Haha no.

As the years go by this book just gets better and better.

>Hating Maus

It's like trying to be so indie that you hate stuff you think is pretty indie.

It’s over rated political “muh holocaust” bullshit

don't fall for the bait, he's trying to turn this thread into a political flame war..

Gargoyles is a required watch.

Probably.

BTW while not the #1 Batman comic, it is one of the easiest to jump in with, full of the most well known characters plus a bit extra so it isn't just mindlessly "the greatest hits".

Honestly most of Ennis's works could be considered required reading but this is easily his most accessible. Strangely, i'm always reminded of this song when rereading through it.

The paneling alone is enough for this to be a masterpiece. If you think otherwise and are not a Sup Forumsfag comics might not be your thing.

Cerebus. Atleast the first half or so.

>Astro City is a perfect hopeful deconstruction of capes
>deconstruction of capes
>deconstruction
Astro City is everything but a deconstruction, it plays most of the Cape troops straight, and is basically a love letter to the genre.

Dark Victory was a significantly better version of the story. It's a shame that it's very reliant on reading Long Halloween first.

You’re a fucking retard. Its a RECONSTUCTION not a deconstruction. Stop using big words you dont know the meaning of.

Its literally about how the holocaust is no excuse to be a jerk to your son/everyone.

Final Crisis is required reading, but it's pretty much the final exam topic of DC Comics.

It wasn't that good. It was confusing and the shots in the panels sucked.

Itt entry level

C'mon, Sup Forums.

...

I've not read this. What's it like? Shitting all over Stan or praising Marvel?

It's pretty objective. There's a bit of shitting on Stan, a bit of praising the company, but where criticism's due, it's given.

anything

No one cares about Zutarafags post.
