Great, now through leaked set pics we can see how shit it will be. Calling it, if it doesnt feature skeletor it will bomb hard

Skeletor will be in it. This movie probably is one shot, since Sony has the MOTU rights until the end of 2019, so they will need Skeletor as the movie's main attraction. Besides we need to see a He-Man/Battle Cat vs Skeletor/Panthor battle. It was really shame that both the feline companions didn't appear in the 87's movie. This is the only chance now.

I hope to god they dont use that shit design

Cant they keep the rights if they make the movie by then, sortve like fox and the fantastic four rights?

>Cant they keep the rights if they make the movie by then, sortve like fox and the fantastic four rights?
Yes they need to do the MOTU movie, otherwise they will lose the rights.

>Omega Underground

literally who?

Will they have the cartoon rights too? I remember the Cannon movie just bought the rights to the toyline and not the cartoon because it was cheaper

>I hope to god they dont use that shit design

Well at least it's better from the design that they were planning for He-Man in a previous production project. Thankfully it was abbandoned.

Probably not.

>not nearly buff enough
>too much tech
God theyre going to ruin this, arent they

Looks dope, reminds me of the first mini-comics, where the armor was basically advanced tech from an ancient civilization.

Thank God that this design was abbandoned.

In my opinion the best choice is the design that Stjepan Sejic's did for the Sideshow statues.

The problem is that this looks too much inspired from Whiplash's design, from Iron-Man 2.

>Looks too much like a design from a 10 year old movie that no one remembers.

Thats a problem?

>sony
>david fucking goyer writing and directing
>no cast announced and movie starts filming in 3 months
>probably the start of another wanna-be cinematic universe
wew lad, this is gonna be shit

Friendly reminder that if they don't get the guys who did the practical effects for this then it's going to look shit.

I'm watching this only if they keep the original character design of the cartoon for He-Man.

Goyer was the only one that Rothman could accept for giving the green light for the MOTU movie, because of their personal friendship

The movie is probably going to be an one shot, since Sony has the rights until 2019.

As for the cast, there is a rumor the last years, that Kellan Lutz has been casted as He-Man.

They better because reports said they weren't going to use Skeletor.

Also Goyer writing it doesn't inspire much confidence.

Seriously this and the She-Ra cartoon would be something that should make me happy but I don't have faith with the people behind those projects.

>Goyer is directing AND writing

He has somehow topped Roberto Orci as my number one "this project has no hope" guy.

The problem is Goyer literally thinks every franchise is the same.

I don't give a flying fuck about Skeletor's history before being Skeletor, I don't care about Grayskull before Grayskull, I don't care about He-Man before He-Man. Give me my fucking movie about He-Man fighting Skeletor.

Tell me about it, I bet he's going to try and make this as serious as possible, he's going to axe characters or change their name because he'll find them to silly, he's going to force Skeletor and He-Man to be something they aren't.

Yeah nah he's going to try to make something DEEP probably going to make some drama outta Keldor and him being related to He-Man, the Sorceress being Teela's mom, etc... At this day and age if you want straightforward Barbarians stories then the non-big two comics are your best option.

Its going to be shit, sadly. Like Transformers, TMNT's, and GI Joe, it will be extremely low effort and have a garbage script. Fuck. You know, He Man has the potential to be a great summer blockbuster if you just embrace how fucking ridiculous it all is. LOTRs meets Mad Max meets Thor Ragnarok.

If they go with the Kirby-esque New Gods's atmosphere of the 87's, but remaining exclusively on Eternia, and with the modern special effects, the MOTU movie could turn out great.

You'd need someone who is passionate about the franchise and not doing it for a cash grab to do it justice.

Or at least you need someone who is willing to understand why people love the franchise it's strengths and weaknesses and what makes it good.

There is a lot of potential for He-Man but they'll fuck it up.
