Because they were cheap lazy cunts with no pursuit of something greater. Really exemplifies the generation that grew up with them, ie baby boomers.

>2058 AD
>"Why did the 20-teens have such terrible cartoons?"

>The communists didn't learn their lesson first time, son.

On an unrelated note, I want that Brunette.

it's terrible because you're looking back. the 70s were basically a stepping stone in America's cultural awakening and anyone not from that time period either can't relate or they'll notice how dated everything is

some music and movies however are timeless

Television killed any budget that cartoons once had.

Don't think they are that bad. They are generic but not as lame as some 90s cartoons like Doug. Also why don't we have kids cartoons with adults anymore?

High inflation made animation more expensive than before and it wasn't a family-friendly decade, kid culture was at a low ebb.

No. Don't try and defend it with this excuse. There are Japanese animated television shows that still managed to be original and interesting despite low budget.

>Not the ebony goddess or the Aryan princess
Shit taste, user. Really shit taste.

Me on the right.

Because unlike the golden age of animation, the dark age of animation was about quantity over quality.

Joe Barbara apparently told John K that they were really tired of endless Scooby Doo spinoffs, but the networks just kept ordering more and more of them.

Also there needs to be more R34 of them.

>No. Don't try and defend it with this excuse.
He's not trying to defend anything, fuck off with your gay weeb shit arguments. Television animation budgets are not the same as theatrical shorts

Hanna-Barbera were the first to break into television animation, and the only way to get it done on time with the budgets they were given was to cut as many corners as possible. Every time you bring up anime it's like you're ignoring that every country has different standards of living. In Japan people work like crazy, stay overnight, and do it for way less money because they love it, that's why it looks so different. Whole different set of ideals

>Really exemplifies the generation that grew up with them, ie baby boomers
Boomers were young adults in the 70s, that was Gen Xers who grew up with these shitty cartoons.

>Also why don't we have kids cartoons with adults anymore?
Good question.

Because no one cared about cartoons in the 70's.

That is not from the 70s.

This is some authentic Russian animation (well, really stop motion) from that era.
