Honestly, I never see people talk about this in-depth, and I go on Tumblr and Twitter all the time. The most they do is post the scene where America punches Hitler and talk about how they want to be like her. I think the idea of this book is for it to be a shallow pandering piece for SJWs. To be fair, it makes sense here: America was sent back in time (against her will) specifically to meet Peggy Carter and learn a lesson about not being a reckless bitch.

America's grandma (and later, America) can travel back in time. Granny Madrimar apparently went back in time at several points, letting important female figures know that her granddaughter was coming, and that they needed to teach her lessons.

Madrimar is actually one of the least confusing elements in the story, despite being a time traveler.

It was made to address a lack of diversity in comics, there is also a lack of diversity in it's readers.

It also mocks those same readers for not being diverse, and talks past them in it's dialogue.

To new readers, there is nothing that indicates what the character is about beyond being brown. What are her powers? She isn't in a movie, she hasn't had a cartoon and she's not in a video game so she has no history.
