I really hate how normies took this marvel of human accomplishment and technology and think of it as something exclusively for kids. Sure there's content for kids, but why shun and shut out animation's potential in every other application?

This, although it says some things when it's most of what you consume. To use a food analogy because those go over so well here, it's like living off funions when most people crave and expect a hot meal because they like it more because it has more going on and they feel nourished. Media aimed at kids isn't very nourishing, and when it is, it's like chicken soup.

it's actually something I'm trying to fix lately and "eat" a little more "nourishing" material.
it's just that work sucks, I work late, so I'm always tired and I sleep too much. Whenever I have free time I just want to throw on cartoons because I just want some colorful noise that doesn't demand too much attention from me.

Don't buy into Sup Forums's "hide your power level" meme narrative. It's irony that some people take as a gospel. The truth is that nobody actually gives a fuck. Nerdy interests are mainstream now. Everyone watches AT, capeshit, plays videogames etc. You are unlikely to be judged for it at all unless your social circle is composed of high school jock caricatures. Just don't be obnoxious about it or broadcast that cartoons are your only interest - but that applies to most things.
It's a whole ecosystem of suck. I put some cardio in my life and that changed everything a little bit. Less tired, read more, shitposted less, ate better.
What made a big change in me seeing and feeling on a deep level that junk food media wasn't giving me the fix I was looking for and that killed the habit for the most part. But then I burn out hard on shit like MMOs and drugs and never touch it again for the same reason. Soon as you realize that you can't enjoy it, you give it up. I still watch it and post here, but after a hard day I'd rather go for a walk, relax into some yoga and de-stress, or do something genuinely stimulating but low-key like read about trees or diddle on a guitar.
