Cute characters, some nice "that sounded sexy" scenes, but weird pacing.

It's more of a Star Vs. clone, really.

But Cartoonstitute, which was also a CN pilot project, had quite a bit of variety. Le Door, 3 Dog Band, Meddlen Meadows, Uncle Grandpa, Regular Show all felt pretty different from one another. And those are just the pilots that were released, I was really hoping thanks to the internet, we'd start going in a more unique direction like that. Instead, I look at a lot of the recent CN and Go! pilots and they all look like they're either ripping off Regular Show or ripping off Adventure Time.

And I would say What a Cartoon had a lot more variety than just ripping off Ren & Stimpy. A lot of the story premises were "Tom & Jerry"-esque, but stuff like Help, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Fat Cats, Ratz and Fly, Johnny Bravo, Bloo's Gang, Kitchen Casanova, even that weird CG Strange Things shit had not only different tones and writing, but different art directions as well.

I refuse to believe with the amount of pilots being made, not one of them is looking to make something like Courage the Cowardly Dog. Even visually.

I'm getting really tired of the, "It's a world where the only limit is your immaaaggination!". The main character is a rabbit, her friend is some hybrid human-fox, the rabbit is in love with a skeleton.

It's the same thing with sandbox games that I hate so much. Give me "you can do anything" and I end up wanting to do nothing. Zootopia, which has a ton of world restrictions, feels a lot more creative than just throwing things at the wall and forcing them all to stick with glue.

I dunno, I think if anything the internet would draw in groups of people with similar interests/influences and it's not all that surprising that a lot of the products look similar. I don't actually know how they picked people to do GO! Cartoons but they were probably picked up from a similar place.

Well, another question is who approves of those. In the 90s gross-out and weirdness was all the rage.

Another is just talent and creativity. This one had a really basic, real-life premise, but with some random magic element added to it. Similarly a lot of What-A-Cartoons were either standard chase cartoons or random gross outs and those by actually talented guys stood out (though Johnny Bravo pilot was also a chase cartoon, as was Dexter's Laboratory).

The one that truly stood out back then IMO was Mina and the Count. Ironically nowadays that one would be a run-off-the-mill bland pilot based on cuteness, as trends shifted.

My main gripe with Cartoon Hangover is that apparently everyone wants to make a cartoon for kids or "adults" with child mentality. It had a show called "Super F*ckers" on it, be more daring, people! They can easily add some mature themes (I mean actually mature, not random swearing) and make some good pieces of animation, but they stick to cute little 12-year old goth catelves and bunnies crushing on skeletons.

wow, this is really bad, things are happening just because, there's no characterization for 80% of anyone on screen, the voice acting lacks gravity, and the animation is very limited at parts, with the already weak designs breaking model and looking very off putting sometimes.

this honestly feels like it was picked up at the first draft, and uploaded several versions before what should be considered a finished product, stunningly unprofessional.

And with that i got no more reason to watch GO! Cartoons/Cartoon Hangover

none of the other cartoons between the span of The Summoning and Doozy were nowhere near as funny or at the very least amusing potential to go with, the very fact nothing is being done with Summoning despite it almost to 2 million views kinda giving me Bravest Warrior season 2 aftermath flash backs AKA nothing is being done to utilize the popularity
