John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are staying in the superhero game.
The screenwriting duo behind Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming are moving over to DC and are in talks to direct Warner Bros. Flash: Flashpoint movie, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The studio declined to comment.
The film will star Ezra Miller reprising his role from Justice League. The film has previously had two other directors attached. Dope filmmaker Rick Famuyiwa in October 2016 over "creative differences.” His exit followed that of Seth Grahame-Smith, who had written the script and was attached to direct.
Daley and Goldstein were largely known for penning comedies such as Horrible Bosses and 2015's Vacation before writing last year's Spider-Man, which earned more than $880 million worldwide.
They're not even hiding the comparison anymore. Let me guess, Bruce takes away his suit too? Fuck Erza. The man, and I use that term loosely, can't even run
Matthew Hughes
>'Flash' Movie Oh is that still a thing. I thought they'd acknowledged the project was cursed.
Bentley Green
>Sam Raimi and Marc Webb were both approached for the job and declined
They're not even hiding it anymore.
Elijah Russell
OH FUCK. BIG BOMB HAPPENING. They did the first draft on S-P:HC, that script had like 20 different writers. Everything else they've written has sucked BIG TIME. Such a huge mistake. ESP since they don't have a Feige-type looking over their shoulders.
Jeremiah Kelly
Take this into consideration And then this DC is looking to make Flash their Spider-Man even if it kills them
Jaxon Rodriguez
...
Blake Jackson
...
Jaxson Moore
Why did they make the Justice League Flash act overtly awkward?
Ethan Rogers
>I wish for different writers for Spider-man Homecoming’s sequel!
Daniel Richardson
SM:H 2 script is probably already written anyway. They start filming in June.
Hudson Williams
>Comedic Flashpoint
Why?
Luke Perez
ITT: samefag changing his IP
Owen Mitchell
>John Francis Daley Hey, it's the kid from Freaks and Geeks and Bones
Nathaniel Scott
SEETHING DC fan.
Alexander Anderson
These guys have SJW shit in all of their films. I remember binge watching all of their stuff before Spider-Man. Homecoming had the most, take this clip from Vacation about making fun of trans being wrong, it's not even a joke youtube.com/watch?v=Z6sIg5BT19g
Nathaniel Martin
Can you really blame them considering Barry's white bread character?
Hudson Lewis
Bland isn’t as shit as what DCEU Barry is
Nathaniel Lopez
dceu is dead and buried with trash wb should be stopped
Parker Gray
What's the problem now?
Josiah Garcia
See
Adam Thomas
True. But comic Barry really does need a rework, something other than fuckup with mommy issues. Christ, last issue he tried to get back together with Iris AT HIS MOTHER'S GRAVE
Hudson Perez
>he didn’t watch Spider-man: Homecoming Actually good for you, it was a lame movie
John Lopez
I wonder if Raimi walked since he refuses to do comic movies without full creative control after Spiderman 3.
Aaron Scott
>let's adapt one of the worst Flash events I hope WB goes under
Liam Ortiz
Yeah I don't see the issue as well
Luis Ward
>Their cinematic output up to this point has been as both writers and as directors. Writing credits include Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Horrible Bosses, and Vacation. Directing credits include the aforementioned Vacation and the upcoming Game Night.
Nice visionaries you got there filmmaker-driven alternative to Marvel.
Levi Reed
playing devil’s advocate here Hey, it worked for this
Matthew Gonzalez
This bitch is hot, movie when (Who day)
Josiah Gonzalez
>no self respecting hollywood director wanted to work with that trainwreck of a script >has to hire literal who writers who will do anything for a paycheck another rotten to the list
Nicholas James
But it only works when the audience is familiar with DCs history and seeing it all flipped upside down. We just barely formed the league, and now people want to see a depressing hell world where Aquaman and Wonder Woman go full retard and end up nuking the planet? Fuck that. It's not even worth the retcons. Only correct course is scrapping everything and starting fresh
Samuel Ortiz
>that clip What the fuck? They are literally just saying don't make fun of trans people, is this supposed to be humorous?
Cameron Jenkins
and guess what, they are removing the only things that make it interesting No Thomas Wayne Batman, No Atlantean Amazon war, no sun deprived Superman its gonna be a very by the numbers alternate universe
Angel Gray
Homecoming was good though.
Aiden Robinson
>Flashpoint >DCEU >Ezra as Flash >Those hacks as directors
As a Flashfag, this is the worst timeline.
Jayden Lewis
Wait if none of those things are going to be in it then how is it a flashpoint movie? What the fuck?
Robert Torres
its supposed to be a continuity reset thats all that Flashpoint is to WB Johns doesnt care because its just another movie he can put his name on
Brody Peterson
Can't wait until they turn his love interest black
Logan Carter
That's so dumb. So the conflict is going to be Thawne bitch slapping Barry for the entirety of the movie since there is no other threat then? And fuck Jonhns.
Luis Bell
While they're at it they should switch Erza with the CW actor since Erza is fucking terrible.
Xavier Nelson
>No Thomas Wayne Batman, No Atlantean Amazon war, no sun deprived Superman source
Jayden Rivera
It's humorous because it's an unnecessary and completely inappropriate to the situation. Honestly, I didn't find it funny but you have to be brain damaged not to get the joke.
Congratulations, future former Flash: Flashpoint directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
This thing is having as smooth a production process as Superman Lives.
Luis Scott
The absolute state of Sup Forums shit. J U S T
Jacob Gonzalez
The joke is that Russ Griswold has turned into the exact same kind of no tact moron as his dad.
Jack Murphy
Homecoming was a shit concept brought to mediocrity levels because of Feige's quality control.
Isaiah Collins
>so everyone hates shit movies now Homecoming was always shit, RDJ just carried that shit.
Angel Moore
>Michael Keaton just carried that shit FTFY
Ethan Cruz
I get annoyed at how things are in capeflicks at times, but it must be nothing compared to how flashfags are. Ezra seems abysmal for a fan of the character.
Jordan Robinson
>all these DC fag tears
Flashpoint has the chance to finally be a good DC movie.
Asher Barnes
Fucking, goddammit WB, just let this thing die already and come back in a few years to try again. Seriously, why must making superhero films be such a fucking hassle for you people?
Henry Turner
I wish Tony had gotten some more scenes though, I think that Vulture's character could have really gone farther had Tony been forced to confront him at some point. It would have given the final fight more depth had it come down to Iron Man vs Vulture.
Jacob Young
>more tony wanking no thanks
Landon Barnes
Should I kill myself before it comes out so I wont have to know anything more about it?
Dylan Clark
>more "oh so quirky" pain in the ass Spiderling Spare me your garbage taste. The audience shouldn't have to be stuck with such a prick.
Andrew Allen
Great, now the whole film will be “batman, did you know gotham state was built by slaves?” Fuck marlel
Andrew Harris
>Uncle Wayne takes away the Speed Force he invented because Barry was irresponsible.
Michael Kelly
They apparently want to recast her.
Ian Brown
>Flash: Flashpoint
Really? They're going for that title?
Owen Reyes
Are they confirmed or still being negotiated?
Dominic Collins
Advanced talks.
Austin Sullivan
They're calling it Flash: Point
Nolan Miller
hahahahahahahahahhaahah
Samuel White
She was only on when they had Rick Famiyua.
Adrian White
He's a degenerate faggot with poor hygeine. Recast.
Jace Evans
>The screenwriting duo behind Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming Wait, I thought Homecoming had a whole heap of writers?
Brayden Miller
Writing credits are complicated and not just handed out to anyone who had a hand in a script. >A "non-original screenplay" is a screenplay that is "based upon source material and all other screenplays" that do not qualify as original screenplays, such as sequels.[9] In the case of a non-original screenplay, any writer who contributes more than 33% of the screenplay is entitled to "screenplay by" credit. There is no heightened percentage for production executives. Then the question is whether they were counted as a team, which is effectively one writer, or did the work separately. Whatever is known about the earliest drafts of the story is probably the closest you can get to figuring out what they actually wrote and what was added in by others later.
Luis Turner
I like every DCEU film except Suicide Squad, but damn... this is going to bomb like Nagasaki. You're getting writers of awful January-type comedy films to direct a film about one of the darkest comics ever? Where the world is in turmoil and heroes get gutted left and right?
