Should I go in blind?

I was browsing youtube and this video from a comic reviewer named Zack came up and he said this series was up there with watchmen and TDKR and one of the greatest comics of all time.
I don't know anything about the New Gods besides that one episode of superman they were on.

I like it, but most people here have a mad on for the author so you'll get a lot of negative feedback.
I say read it and form your own opinion.
I also have minimal new gods knowledge for what it's worth.

>up there with watchmen and TDKR
Zack is a casual.

Really? Every King thread I’ve read on here is very critical of his run on Batman. Whether they’re for Batcat or anti-Batcat.

It's high Art.

Are you really going in blind if you are choosing to read the book after watching a gushing review for it? Or asking people on Sup Forums for their opinions?

Just read it or don’t read it. No need to get validation from us.

Throw the New Balances away, user.

I like it a lot, but honestly I don't know why people are sucking this and batman white Knight's dick so much, they're good but there are better books being put out by DC right now

Yeah, go in blind. If you like it, cool. If not, that's fine too.

As somebody who likes it, I don't think it belongs on the level of TDKR or Watchmen, especially since it's not finished.

What's the best comic book out now?

I haven't read Mister Miracle, but Tom King's Vision was probably the best Marvel comic released since Ultimate Spider-Man.

This. New Balances are virginity protectors.

Doomsday Clock

Black Bolt

Is this whole entire thread bait? I'm surprised no one is sperging out over OP mentioning D&C and everyone sucking off King's dick

These anons are right though, step the shoe game up son.
What you know bout these TEENWITCH boots?

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina but the release schedule is dicks

>he said this series was up there with watchmen and TDKR and one of the greatest comics of all time.
Fuck me what a moron. It's not even complete yet, why do people say all this shit and cum their pants at the first sight of gimmicky panelling or meta antics?
If you want a King series that's actually established as a modern classic, just read Vision.

How is Tom king's Vision?

Gretty Pood

Good outside of his treatment of Chase and Victor from Runaways

>a comic reviewer named Zack
Was he your boi?

>I don't know anything about the New Gods besides that one episode of superman they were on

Well you might like it although some of the stuff might confuse you or you might miss a few things here and there but eh, it's readable.

20/20

He said he was going to fuck up Jim Hammond but Robinson was using him (which is probably why Hammond got saved) at the time and King got anxious about it because he planned the story with Hammond.

Then someone told him about Victor and he went and used him.

holy shit really? I haven't been a regular on Sup Forums since before King's Batman, but people here really dislike him? His Batman run is probably going to go down in history as the standard for Batman. And Sup Forums dislikes it? Holy shit this place is contrarian as hell
oh, I get it. It's all waifufaggotry and shipping nonsense, the most pointless criticism of all time. Well played, Sup Forums, well played

>I also have minimal new gods knowledge for what it's worth.
The problems set in if you do know about New Gods, he writes Scott really poorly.

I think it's the third or fourth best DC book. It started good, but it feels thematically empty. King's characters feel like pieces that drive the plot. I don't like King's portrayal of new gods and the war either. His war feels too small scale and comic book-y(did the same in omega men. Sheriff had a good portrayal of war). His new gods feel too small scale too, and just aliens rather than a pantheon of gods. Orion saying Jesus felt stupid. I loved the first issue, but haven't loved any other issue since then. The last issue was kinda cringey.
With the way King hyped it up and the way he revealed it on twitter, I was expecting something like Sandman, but it feels another cliche "it's just a hallucination-superhero story", though it's not bad by any means.

Mister Miracle is often autistic and often funny.

No, people usually give some legitimate grievances, one Kingfag gets autistic then other anons get autistic, then trolls take advantage of said autism and everyone takes the bait.

The fact that this thread is so far pretty calm and slow pretty much tells you everything, Sup Forums doesn't really give that big of a fuck about King like they do with Geoff, Bendis or Snyder.

Hell we even had a most-hated comic author thread and King wasn't even mentioned.
