Did EEnE have an influence on KND with the DIY inventions? Why are there no cartoons with these themes anymore?

Odds are they are both using the same tech the 2x4 technology but Double D is only self taught so he is not as proficient or at least not as weapon heavy as the KND. I imagine the KND tend to avoid the Ed's because of how destructive they can be or how untrustworthy they can be.

For some reason i love this style

the KND probably wanted them to join , but they had to chase them and banend them when the eds took all the technology and candys (and money too) our of they secret bases

I miss this BS that only could have existed in 90's to 2000's. The "I have my Dad's saw and half a roll of duct tape" This can never happen again since you could easily write a 3D printer into the show and call it a day.

>Why are there no cartoons with these themes anymore?
Because these days every kid has an iphone. Why would a bunch of boxes taped together be more useful to them?

The Kids Next Door were originally supposed to have typical spy gear, but they thought it made the kids come off as too powerful (and the network wasn't all that fond of the kids using real weapons to fight adults). The 2x4 technology was a way to make them seem more like underdogs who improvised their weapons to make up for their lack of firepower.

Technology changed childhood and the abundance of junk good media killed imagination, so making something like this appeals to something that just doesn't exist anymore.

It's sad.

Moments before tragedy

I meant junk food btw

Would Garagepunk be an accurate term for this?

all this stuff is awesome

The Eds basically live in a world where adults are implied to exist and yet are never seen. Maybe the Cul-de-sac is a closed experiment done by the adults to see how much control the children can be placed under with only implicit authority.

This stuff made me believe that I could build my own Goddard out of random shit I found outside. I felt betrayed when I realized that it was bullshit.

Why was astronomy such a big thing for kids back in the 90s and earlier? I remember wanting a telescope too for a while. It makes little sense, but it was everywhere.

>Not being fascinated with the cosmos

Understandable if the character is a nerd and such, but even the likes of Bart Simpson etc had their typical dream room with an observatory.

The Eds are teenagers. They're not allowed into the KND

Usually most of the kids are interested cosmos
(Eds had space elevator n satellite)

You can always use telescope as a spy device

people looked up to the sky more before they had devices to look down to.

We saw Eddy's ID and it said he was 12.

When?
They were in at least their second year of middle school, which should imply 13-14.

>DIY

DON’T EVER SAY WORD AGAIN

The episode where Kevin learns his middle name.

you become a teenager at 11

>eleven
>teen

How could I forget that 11 is pronounced eleventeen

Same episode we learned his middle name.

.... what.

Oh alright that's fair. So we figure the Eds are all in the 12-13 range then. Double D could easily be 13 already, and honestly Ed being 14 and being held back a year wouldn't surprise me

Nah, the guys who made KND originally wanted them to use generic high-tech stuff, but Cartoon Network suggested they try something else because Dexter's Lab had already done that

"teen" is derived from ten, so actually we become teenagers when we're 10. English just has weird retarded illogical anomalies sometimes like "eleven" and "twelve".

1-4 babby
5 middle ground between babby and kid
6-12 kid
13(sometimes also 14) preteen
14-17 Teenager
18-25 young adult

>.... what.
So, should 2011, 2012 be apart of the decade known as the "tens", or should we cut them out just because verbally they don't end with "-teen"?

>"tens"
>not "teens"
You fucked up your own argument.

See:
"teen" derives from "ten".

Double digits but not ending in teen is preteen, you dumbass

I like the name, so I'll say yes.

But "eleven" and "twelve" having their own unique names is incohesive with rest of the verbal numbers. In a logical world it would be "oneteen" or "firstteen", and "twoteen" or "secondteen".
Completely based on linguistic conventions.

This. I'm no luddite, but I feel like we've lost something by being so distracted by our tech (iphones and tablets in particular). I mean, the same was said of tv when I was growing up, but you couldn't take your tv everywhere back then.
