How true is this

Very true

Prime was slow as fuck compared to other transformer cartoons

By the virtue of the designs alone.
You can't improve on those.
(I get depressed when I get reminded of the movies, and I'm not even a TF fag)

>Marvels old Transformers comics were the first ones my dad gave me out of his collection when I learned to read.
>Their plots were miles better than Michael Bays bullshit.
I will never stop being mad.

>Optimus Prime dies, creating a power vacuum in the Autobots
>Grimlok decides he's in charge because fuck you
>Banishes Bumblebee and Blaster and other political dissidents, revealing he's not quite as stupid as he seems

>That period where the Decepticons stuck on earth are were so hard up for fuel that they make fucking Ratbat leader because he can detect fuel sources.

Shit was wild.

They Bay movies aren't really catering to die hards or even the nerdier side of TF, they are for casuals and making the brand important to them and new generations of kids.

This is very important since prior to the Bayformers, TF as a brand was kind of becoming something extremely unremarkable, I genuinely believe without Bayformers it would have gone the way of He Man at worst after so many years of relevancy among young boys, or at best the way of TMNT with constant attempts to be relevant again but none really sticking. Love or hate Bayformers, it was a success and it brought tons of money to Hasbro which is why we now get cool but mostly pointless things like Masterpiece BW toys.

I'm not a "ruined forever" fag. But I consider He-Man's brief but decent revival to be better than what Transformers ended up with.
But like I said, nothing can truly ruin a franchise forever, so Bay is welcome to have his fun till its someone elses turn to play.

>Miko, a Japanese exchange student with an interest in American punk styles
>Weeaboo

>M.I.T. graduate
>A personality
Really, I don't know anything about Transformers, but there's a lot to work with here. This is Dobson-tier.

Yep, those were amongst my first American comics as well, next to spider man and punisher.
Those characters looked and acted more human than humans in Bay movies.

Is this Dobson? It looks like him, but it also sounds a lot like him.

She'd only be acceptable to me if she spoke in a Ramones-esque New-York-Cockney voice.

The only Transformers series I watched a the way through Was Transformers Armada.

Dobson doesn't understand the appeal of Transformers. His words.

Dobson doesn't understand coloring, line work, motion, or eye brows, so honestly I'd be more surprised if he could actually wrap his head around ANYthing before throwing a tantrum about how bad he his life is.

This. Where's the torn denim and leather jacket?

What about Animated?

Nah, not enough floating eyebrows and boy-ish looking girls.

Man knows jack shit beyond how twitter works, and even there he knows nothing in how blocking or reporting works.

To start with, my opinion here doesn't matter much, since I don't know the first thing about Transformers; I just watched some cartoons as a little child and Transformers movies as a teen.

While I think robots having organic mouths is silly, I do think they should stick to Starscream's original chassis. They consistently kept the look on Optimus and Bumblebee, so why scrap everything that made Starscream iconic? Maybe I'm biased since he was my only Transformers toy, but the new designs are just... generic bad guys.

The only downside of Marvel G1 is that Megatron always jobbed and never fully reclaimed his Decepticon leadership.

G1 Megatron was always a jobber

when was samus in transformers?

It certainly channels his particular flavor of awful opinions. Tthat is to say, somehow even when the core thesis of a Dobson opinion may be shared by you, he still manages to make it feel wrong. Dobson can make the right wrong, just by it being from Dobson.

i just wish hasbro was like that with their other IPs...

>the movie pretty muck killed any chance for a jem revival happening in what's literally the best time for one

>the expendables trillogy were better GI joe movies than the actual GI joe movies

>ROM movie never

It reads like someone who watched a five minute refresher on either series and already had bias against modern shows.
It's not like I'm a super fan f Prime and detractor of G1, I enjoy both, but it just reeks of ignorance.

A Samus lookalike appeared in the background once, and the Animated universe has a planet named SR388.

Prime had some good episodes, the synthetic energon one, nemesis prime and the Orion pax thing were cool. Likewise g1 has some great episodes like starscreams brigade, war dawn and the ultimate doom were good stories marred by 80s animation.

Personally I think beast wars is the best series overall but it has its fair share of problems too.

>Megatron and Optimus play a video game to determine the winner of the war
>Megatron cheats like fucking crazy
>Gets caught cheating
>Optimus still wins
>Optimus realizes he killed some NPCs that were in the game for some reason
>Optimus kills himself knowing Megatron will kill real people
Fucking stupid as shit

Just post the porn he's drawn already

Whatever dumbass artist drew that didnt even watch TFprime

Nah I'm with you on that. Starscream's old design was way better than in prime

OG has a GOAT film and only one good episode.

It would have gone the way of GI Joe

>Japanese transfer girl in America
>Likes monster truck rallies, heavy metal, and punk rock.

>Weeaboo

Whoever drew this is a fucktard.

I'm a fairly open Transformers fan. I like G1, I like Beast Wars, I thought Armada was okay in spots and Animated was real fun

but god damn I just can't get into Prime. I hate all the humans to high heaven and there's just too much focus on them, it's paced slow as hell, I can't stand the art style or cybertronian designs

The only thing I could get out of it was I enjoyed the increased focus on Starscream's machinations, even if I did hate how he looked. I also liked its Ratchet but that doesn't say much anymore.

That's Carly. She's the most underappreciated female character in all of Transformers, and yes I'm counting femmebot waifus from Japan so don't ask.

What's more is that all of that is explained in the very first episode

I mean I hate Prime as much as the next guy but that is some serious autism.

G1 Starscream isn't supposed to be awesome. He's a comical fuckup

Prime is boring but G1 isn't that good to begin with.

Rescue Bots > RID15 > TFP

He's a fuck up because he's a conniving backstabber. When he's not trying to kill Megatron he's highly competent.

none at all. This is either someone ignoring blatant issues of the old show or some idiot trying to pander to a club he isn't a part of.
The fact that Bee's pro is what all VW bugs had at a that time and the fact that Miko is 14 while Carlie was 22 in her first appearance (yes spike was dating a girl 6 years older than him) is telling how little he knows the source martial

which is the cartoon where a safari hunter makes the giant robots fight a mega lizard? Which is the show where one of them turns into a mermaid? which is the show where they had a woman fall in love with a robot?

> I just watched some cartoons as a little child and Transformers movies as a teen.
I think that sums up the OPs comic

>which is the show where they had a woman fall in love with a robot?
I know JunexOptimus is my OTP

they also mind controlled people with a dance club.
and flooded a city with two stories worth of water from a single water main, and had a advance alien warrior get confused thinking a HS football coach was a "military strategist"

oh yeah and then there was that episode where they were moving the earth into the sun and got as close as passing mercy and all it did was make things super warm.

You forget the Mecannibals, the Roadjammers (a bunch of hardcore robot-killer bikers), Decepticons running a tropical island vacation resort, Starscream turning into a planetary threat and nuking half the cast, and the Car Wash of Doom.

Marvel G1 was super fucking comfy.

Optimus's point of view was that, he brought the war to other life forms (he was the one who pressed the button for the Ark to crash land on Earth), therefore anyone on Earth dying due to their war is directly his fault.

In the game he directly killed a bunch of creatures due to panicking in pain (he holds on to their building while climbing, it collapses on Megatron and everyone inside falls to their death). So he was their killer twice over in his own eyes.

...

Who's the blonde bimbo?

On the subject of the BAYFORMERS

Is optimus a legit fighting god in the canon? Optimus in the BAYFORMERS seems to out skill every other transformer in 1v1 it ain't even suspenseful. The only times he loses are when he has to deal with 3 or more bots or is fighting telekinetic beings. For real, why does any decpticon engage Optimus Prime in close combat? It a fucking death sentence in the films.

This show is fucking great. Great character design, really fucking good structure to episodes that manage to have all of them feel like fun one-offs while also having an ongoing plot that constantly keeps moving. The mouths are jarring, Optimus being the biggest offender, but you get used to it the more you watch it and it's really only a handful of characters that have it. Also it's one of the few shows I've seen that's been able to pull off references in a completely non-cringey way. all in all it was ahead of it's time

Oddly enough there's a lot of parallels to be made with it and Animated. Namely the inclusion of Bulkhead and Black Arachnia

>Namely the inclusion of Bulkhead
They ruined him.
