Here's some Joe Cocker to get you started tonight. Enjoy that slick piano and those cool bongos - really, the whole rhythm section for this song is on point. I really like the way the piano was recorded for this song, too, that slightly off quality of it really sounds cool. You hear it on some of the old tracks on the Peanuts soundtracks. But damn, everything just comes together on this one to sound great. It's so damn jazzy.

Next up, let's go with a song I found on the related list, somewhere down the line of my searching. Here's Al Stewart's Year of the Cat. youtube.com/watch?v=cqZc7ZQURMs Pretty jazz-rocking kinda song, very piano-focused. It's relaxing, very cool. Great piano leads into a cool rhythm section, that eventually leads to a nice bit of vocals, to a few really nice solos played over that nifty kinda 70s string backing that was always so prevalent. Oh, and lest you forget this is a rock song, there's some electric guitar into some hot sax. Mmmh, man I was not expecting that. It's a song that keeps on giving. This has been a gem in the rough of youtube searching. Please, do enjoy.
Maga-tsuki. It's not literally handcuffed, of course, but the basic effect is the same.

Now let's do some Yes. Here's Owner of a Lonely Heart. youtube.com/watch?v=SVOuYquXuuc Enjoy this weird-ass video to go with it, too. Don't try to read too far into it, I've no idea what's going on in it. But the it's a good message for our primary demographic, I reckon. The owner of a lonely heart is better than the owner of a broken heart? Debate.
Song's pretty solid, despite the questionable use of weird sting noises so odd that Mystery Science Theater joked about them. It kind of grows on you in a way; you start to appreciate the bit of surrealism of it. Or maybe I've just heard it too many times and it's starting to infect my mind. I'm not sure. Hm.
