What is the difference between black panther and Iron Man...

What is the difference between black panther and Iron Man? I didn't really read either comic I use to watch the Iron Man cartoon when I was a kid. Didn't know black panther was a thing till they made a movie about it since I missed a few of the marvel movies since whatever one was before civil war. Besides laser beams and jet packs is there any difference in their suits or the characters? They seem kinda similar.

Black Panther is black

One is black and is a panther. The other is iron and is a man.

Jesus, read some comics you fucking Sup Forums pleb.

Iron Man lives like a king, Black Panther actually is one.

Iron Man can fly and has a drinking problem because of his PTSD. Black Panther has spiritual connections and is Black Hamlet because of his assassinated father.

Black Panther is physically enhanced himself and not just a guy in a suit. Also the Panther suit is more high-tech due to being created in the most advanced nation in the world with almost unlimited access to Vibranium.

Tony and T'challa are also pretty much polar opposites. Tony is a spoiled and irresponsible brat who never had to work a day in his life until he became Iron man out of necessity, while T'challa was born and raised with the responsibility both to lead a nation and to become the Black Panther.

There is nothing wrong with Sup Forums the moderation is pretty decent there overall.
Well they're both high tech suits, that's sort of why I'm curious what the difference is between those two. Personality wise it does sort of seem like Stark is really not very ambitious which is weird because that's not really any way I would of described the character he use to be an alcoholic arms dealer that's always having some problems running his company he rather came off as a workaholic.

I read comics sometimes. It just occurred to me I went through an Iron Man phase but didn't really get that into it despite my autistic like for it at the time.

After the revolution, one of them will end up in an African gulag, while the other will end up in an American one.

That would make sense when travel was more difficult. Considering their both rich and have access to technology to go wherever they want they can pretty much immigrate anywhere whenever they feel like it so that doesn't sound very likely. Now if there was going to be a commie revolution I think batman might be in for a bit of trouble.

black panther suit is like thousands of years old and is basically an Out-of-place-object being made using materials and technology of a crashed ancient alien vessel, under the guidance of fairly pro-active primordial panther god, designed to be handed down from king to king forever

while the iron-man suit is wholly the product of modern human science.its constantly being found to have flaws and upgraded and destroyed and replaced pretty much made up as he goes along since he'll try nearly any idea once

youtube.com/watch?v=9EBar7BK8Mk

Tony Stark is a outwardly a billionare playboy. Inwardly, he's a paranoid futurist, who chases after new tech, but is scared shitless of what it can do. He goes nuts whenever anyone else uses his tech, and barely trusts his closest friends.

Black Panther is the King and Ruler of Wakkanda first and foremost. He wants to open up his infamously xenofphobic country to new ideas.

>while the iron-man suit is wholly the product of modern human science
Wait a minute no it's not, it uses futuristic sci-fi stuff. Like the servo-mechanisms and stuff are mostly plausible but it's been way past modern science for years even though it seems more do-able than a mech.
I was curious if Panther's suit was sort of similar to that with sort of a mechanical component rather than just a better fitted plate"mail" armor type deal made out of unobtainium. I suppose vibranium is suppose to be older and better than adamentium?
Black panther is a politician? How in the fuck is this guy popular? Nobody believes a fucking thing politicians say.

He's a tribal king. Not a politician in the western sense. Wakkanda doesn't have elections.

In Iron man, they actually have Tony spend a great deal of time designing his shit. In Black Panther, they gloss over everything, just saying that Wakkanda is both a backwards royal kingdom and an advanced future society at the same time.

>He's a tribal king. Not a politician in the western sense.
That depends on who you ask. Sounds sort of like "the narcissism of small differences".

They both sound completely different as characters.

>iron man flies
>is not a monarch
>outside the suit t'challa would mop the floor with stark
>one did not used to be an arms dealer

people dumb

One is believable to a certain extent while stretching the sci-fi stuff.

The other is an over the top fantasy realm.

the problems of a shared universe

If a black man cosplays as ironman there is no problem.
But if a white man cosplays as black panther it gets beaten up.

Okay sure.
Black Panther is the king of an African nation that has a magic science fiction metal, and that is the explanation for any question you have about Wakanda's history, culture, or technology. The answer is always "magic science fiction metal." His powers come from a magic herb the king of Wakanda eats that makes him strong and tough and fast, and sometimes his suit is also made from magic science fiction metal He's mostly uninterested in superhero politics and only feels responsibility towards Wakanda, but isn't too proud to involve himself in the outside world when necessary. In short, he's a superpowered king that wants to help and protect his people.
Iron Man is a genius rich boy that inherited a company from his dad, and made his fortune into an even bigger fortune using his engineering talents. He was taught a huge lesson in humility, and out of a combination of desire for revenge and massive guilt from being an arms dealer, he built the Iron Man armor, which while scientifically impossible in the real world, is always the cutting edge of science in the Marvel universe, and uses it to fight evil to put his guilty conscience at ease. Tony Stark is extremely arrogant and self-absorbed, but this may be a front for his untreated psychological problems, which he sometimes self-medicates through drinking. In short, he's a wreck that is propped up by his scientific mind and infinite bank account.

God I hate Sup Forums.

Are you just saying that because I randomly picked a non-pornographic image from the first folder that popped up for images and you think a different Emma is /best Emma/?

It's a legitimate question most comic characters are pretty similar. One of my favorite comics was when Ben Parker got cloned from Peter. Pretty much the exact same character but I liked Ben better.

You can see how this is different right? You can see how these characters of relatively unrelated origin are obviously different vs a literal clone who actually took the place of the character you're comparing him to and is still very much just a knock off of the original character right?
I mean past very superficial elements which you'd have no real knowledge of in the first place unless you dug deeper and their differences became even more apparent, T'challa is nothing at all like Tony in any way. Meanwhile Ben Reilly is literally Peter Parker in powers and appearance, if you saw an image of Scarlet Spider it'd be simple to confuse him for Spider-man because of all intents and purposes he is.

So what I'm saying is, I'm pretty sure you're full of shit because Emma Stone is best Emma.

Wakkanda doesn't have elections. It has hereditary titles and trial by combat.

They actually are pretty similar despite the fact that they have nothing in common when it comes to upbringing. They're both men of reason with ties to traditional lifestyles of their respective nations, and have a revelation that causes them to want to update those lifestyles; Tony's dissatisfaction with the corporate culture he was raised in, and T'challa's modernist approach to kingship echo each other.

There hasn't, to my knowledge, been a big Iron Man/Black Panther story that doesn't have them disliking each other and I think it'd be interesting to have one that looks at their similarities rather than differences. Tony's an easy target to play the dick because, hey, rich white dude who's usually uninterested in apologizing about it.

Well Wakanda, like any comic character, has power creep. It started as a modern civilization disguised as a tribal-level civilization. It was advanced, but not the most advanced civilization on the planet and Black Panther had a vested interest in both protecting it from outside exploitation and exploring the outside world to see what they could learn from it.

Now they've solved guns, cancer, and rule a space empire. So yeah.

From hearing second hand stuff which is all I know about Black Panther they really didn't sound too dissimilar I'm not sure if his suit is powered by alien technology or just medieval plate armor? It's really easy to mistake a lot of comic book characters because the characters themselves get replaced with someone else all the time who gets the same exact super powers pretty much. There have been tons of green lanterns, 2 or 3 captain Americas, then you got super heroes with super powers that are practically identical to other ones.

And yeah ben is basically spiderman with a different costume, I'm just saying I'm not negatively criticizing having pretty much the same character. It's just easy to mix some of these up. Although they're really not the same character because he's a completely different personality. The alternative spidermans are usually more fun than peter parker's story. Regular spiderman is doomed to keep getting rebooted continually as a high school kid. The other spiderman guys like 2099 or his clone get a more interesting story arc that doesn't just turn him back into a kid and replay the same old characters, same story arcs, with different art.

You gotta be trolling about Stone, 3dpd when it comes to waifus.

Man Marvel is really weirdly into monarchy isn't it.

Well I mean especially now of all times you've had to have seen Iron Man and Black Panther in action in just trailers or clips.
If anything it'd be easier to think he's something akin to Captain America.

No more than rest of the entirety of all fiction.

I've seen basically nothing about black panther. Everyone says his suit is high tech and don't really clarify if it's because it's made of unobtainium or if there's something else to it like an ironman type suit. It really got me wondering a bit about iron man because I just haven't dug through those comics like I have with some other marvel characters.

I suppose Cap would be a good character since he's so generic in powers sort of like any human skill except he's better at it and is a martial arts expert. Steve Rodgers could easily fill in for batman in his costume and Bruce Wayne could do the same for him. Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark both have the same alter-ego personality cover. It's really easy to mix characters up.

Is panther more like cap because they both have generic all around skill set that's way above average but not spiderman level pick up cars tier strength, and super intelligence science expertise when he's not just taking selfies of himself and selling them to jonah instead of getting a job as a scientist so he could afford rent?

are you 12

>race
>powers
>technology
>methods
>motivations
>target audience
there you have it

Iron man can fly for 1.
I'm also not really sure if ironman's suit is Vibranium.

>Ben Parker
You mean Ben Reilly you casual fuck. Take your best/worst/whateverEmma bullshit back to

>What is the difference between black panther and Iron Man?

Suit-wise? Black Panther's is a bulletproof spandex, Tony's is a switchblade with an autonomous AI that also flies.

Tony's suit is much more high tech and makes him almost a cyborg or a blue beetle, while BP's is limited by Wakanda's technology.

>There is nothing wrong with Sup Forums the moderation is pretty decent there overall.

That is the least true thing I've seen on Sup Forums in weeks.

>Tony and T'challa are also pretty much polar opposites. Tony is a spoiled and irresponsible brat who never had to work a day in his life
wasn't him a scientist and an entrepreneur?
