MTV GET OFF THE

No offense to the Dead Kennedys, but I am fucking tired of these "Le funni sarcastic parody songs"

I see where you're coming from but I would argue that while NYD's impact on punk rock is undeniable, they weren't very reflective of what punk has become/come to be known for. They were very glammy.

Nevermind. I thought the whole song was gonna be like the first minute.

The Ramones had the sound and look, but they never had the so-called "attitude." They weren't even as attitudinally punk as Green Day.

Dead Kennedys are cringy tuneless shit

The best punk band is the Ramones.
They embodied the bratty, sarcastic, vaguely amoral, smart-people-pretending-to-be-dumb aesthetics of early punk. What, are they not harxxxcore enough for you? Punk was never really an attitude, it was a movement that died in 81 or so

>The Ramemes
wow, hows highschool going?

True they wrote a lot of fun, poppy songs and that's what they're known for primarily, a good chunk of their songs are actually about some rather harsh realities of their surroundings, 53rd and 3rd, for example. And that's what punk is about a lot of the time, it's honesty and straightforwardness about your life and the situation at hand. They also wrote what is, to me, one of the best political punk songs ever, Bonzo Goes to Bitburg.

Both bands sound exactly the same. But Dead Kennedys are at least edgier and more interesting,

DK is way better Black Flag but Siege is better than both of them combined.

Do you mean best pop punk band?

DK had all the energy and political anger, without being open enough that they'd get silenced by larger audiences like some punk bands.
