Do i have

thank you for taking the time to do this. okay so, how does this sampling work then?
Or what would you recommend me to go with? I really would like a Casio just for that kind of sound, although it seems hard to get here in Sweden. If i get that Akai midi controller, there would be no need for a keyboard at all then? but I won't be able to get the same sounds?

IT'S A CASIO ON A PLASTIC BEACH

the guy i was talking to recommended me to get a casio keyboard and one of these:
roland.se/products/um-one_mk2/

would that also be enough to make some music on the computer?

>how does this sampling work then?
sampling is just a fancy word for taking a small piece of audio and using it in a song or in some fashion whether it be a drum sample you're using in a beat or a sample from an instrument that you use to make a melody. you record a snippet from whatever you're sampling, put it in your DAW and do whatever with it.

if you want a casio just check ebay from time to time, soon enough you'll find one being sold close to you. casio SK series would be a good starting point, an SK-5 or SK-8 would be good i think, they have a good classic retro sound. but remember they are just keyboards with preset sounds they cant control anything else

if you get an AKAI its just a CONTROLLER it doesn't make sound, but you don't NEED a controller it just makes interfacing with your DAW easier,

that looks like the most bare bones way to get midi into your computer yeah, but again you need a keyboard with midi out

okay, i actually think im learning things now, thanks. but would i also be able to change the sounds afterwards on my computer, if i were to use a casio sk-5 for example, or would it be just the sounds that it can make? because if not, it seems like i could get more value and spare me some trouble if i just got a midi controller like akai, hooked it up to my computer and choosing different sounds via a DAW. sorry if it got messy, but i hope you get me. either way I'm sure i will be buying something. making music with only a DAW seems a bit hard for me, i think it would help with the controller a lot

yeah i'd say your best bet is get an akai mpk mini or something and find good retro samples online to use in your DAW. theres thousands of casio, yamaha, roland, etc. sample packs online for free

Put some carpet down you godless heathen.

too many. get some rolands.

lel fuck roland
