>mfw receeding hairline but really thick hair
1. Cunt
That's what happened to the uncles on my mom's side. All of them were bald by 30. None of them kept blond hair as adults, though, most were like that as kids but were light brown as adults and the rest were gingers.
I seem to have gotten their early baldness but with my dad's pattern (he didn't start until his 40s but thinning on the crown + temples).
too bad the limiting factor of his life is autism instead of his hair
You get baldness from your mother's side since it's in the X chromosome. You generally need to look on your grandpa on that side to get an idea how you may turn out.
you realize you might as well inherit your grandma‘s X from your mother right
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Plus most hair transplant clinics, at least the good ones, want you to take finasteride for a year before the transplant to stabilize your hair loss.
Also you don't really need to be Elon Musk rich, just middle class. A good FUE transplant might cost $3-10k, depending on the number of grafts.
>just shave it brah
My hair went like this dude's at 17 or 18. Maybe not quite that far back, but same pattern.
Then it stopped. Still the same at 25, but it's different to my dad's hair shape so I suspect it will start moving again one day.
It's actually from both. There are genes that influence adrogen receptors on all of the chromosomes, but one of the main ones is on the X.
My grandfather on my mom's side started balding in his 40s or 50s.
23andme said I was safe but that was the one trait test that was wrong for me. I've been on fin for a few months now.
Never said you couldn't. Just that looking at your grandpa is the most easy way to get some kind of idea what you might turn out to look.
that‘s not what I meant. Your mother has two X chromosomes. One from her father and the other from her mother.
You have a 50% chance of ending up with either one. So looking at your grandpa on your mum‘s side might be useless because you might not carry his X chromosome
